Cat verses Snake. Who will win? 👅

This stupid ass detective AU is rotting my brain so here. I have some more lore and ideas thought up and they’re not stopping 🙃 my terminology for this stuff might be wrong but eh…my bad I’m already researching too much as it is.

Leona’s rank is really up in the air right now thanks to a “mishap” in which he was framed and almost convicted of an ongoing string of murders against other magical police. He should technically be a Lieutenant but after he is found innocent, he refuses to take the position…but they still kind of hold it for him out of guilt and expect him to take it eventually.

The “mishap” was particularly traumatizing as a lot of his colleagues thought him to be guilty as charged and even claim they expected him to be a dirty cop. Even someone who was once very close to him believed he was guilty and personally sought his imprisonment. He doesn’t outwardly show how incredibly fucked up it made him but he is a lot less motivated and a lot more grouchy…and most people steer clear of him now. He expected to be kept on desk duty but when he returns he is told he has to partner with the new transfer Jamil Viper.

Jamil is ranked on paper as a Detective despite having been trained back in the Scalding Sands as a Sergeant. He was trained specifically in that role to be able to train the Chief of Police’s son, Kalim, to take that position. Once Kalim officially is promoted to the rank of Sergeant, Jamil is “suddenly” set to transfer to Sage Island to serve their magical police force.

Despite knowing his purpose was to make sure Kalim was trained enough to be a passible cop, he didn’t expect to be thrown away so easily and basically forced to leave everything he ever knew. He couldn’t argue with his former boss because technically his UM was classified as dangerous and he should have been placed at Sage Island sooner. As much as Jamil had craved his freedom…he had it and he wasn’t even sure what to do anymore. He felt alone and isolated upon arriving to Sage Island especially since his peers were aware of his UM and kind of feared him for it. Once “trained” and somewhat adjusted he is partnered with…Leona Kingscholar.

I’m thinking about more people to add to this cast and I solidified a few…Crowley of course as their Chief of Police/Their BOSS.

Rook would be the main forensic pathologist of their department. Despite being rather young, he has an intense passion for mystery and solving cases and appreciating the beauty of pursuing justice. He and Leona have a VERY weird relationship and he takes immediately to Jamil. I have a LOOOOOT of tea for his backstory but let’s just say he’s a little shady shady as the Rook we know and love. 💕

Malleus is the Captain of this department. He basically had the position waiting on him because of who his family is from Briar Valley. This is essentially his “play test” at power before he goes back home to their force eventually. He was Leona’s previous partner…and they actually were a pretty unstoppable force and very close until Malleus’ promotion…and the “mishap”. Now they’re like oil and water.
