It makes Ironia “Rust” Knight pissed off. Unlike the rest of team, he can take stab wounds and be heal in no time but right now they’re damn annoying as hell.  He already beat five members of the Lovely Horrors Gang but these guys are just the lackeys. The real ones are demons just like him and his friends!

“Just get wreck already!” He shouted breaking one of the masked minion’s arm as the minion yelped in pain before getting toss into the dumpster. The blond huffs as his eyes turn to his normal hazel. “I need to get to Ink and that Seeker Tribe fraction. Got to let them...know?” He raised an eyebrow as he spotted a bystander, a human. Shit! “HEY! YOU! Get out of here! It ain’t safe here!” He told the other. 

[*Jamie laughs in the distance*]

Pitch didn’t speak much during the drive, whether he was just focused on driving, had nothing to say, or just enjoyed making the boy squirm, the entire trip was soaked in silence. If the radio was on it might’ve made the trip easier, but as if Pitch was going to make things easier on his new pet. No, of course not, he wouldn’t completely destroy his self confidence only to make him comfortable. 

It was almost difficult to resist laughing at that. 

The Rolls-Royce stopped outside a spiked yet elaborately decorated gate, no lock was visible but there was what could only be assumed was a guard standing outside. They rushed to the side of the car as Pitch rolled down his window, leaning out slightly to talk to the muscled man with a soft voice before the guard rushed over to a small booth, and after a moment, the gates opened.

The hastily scrawled note was wedged in the crack of Jamie’s window, awaiting his return to his old bedroom. A certain winter spirit knew the young man would be visiting his mother that weekend, and with the holidays keeping him tied up in obligations, Jack was no doubt desperate for some quality time with his dearest friend. 

To anyone else, the message would have been far too cryptic to decipher. For Jamie, however, it beckoned him to a tree house the pair had constructed in his youth, in the woods near the lake. It wasn’t simply a fort, or a hideout. They hadn’t ever settled on a classification for what it was they had built, so the two had simply called it “their place.” That’s what it was, after all - a place where they could do anything in the world they wanted, from playing pirates to idly chatting about the mysteries of the universe. 

The Guardian of Fun sat perched on the planked roof, one knee hugged to his chest, the other dangling free. He lit up like North’s globe when he saw Jamie approaching. Dropping to the slatted floor of the tree house, Jack crouched and offered his hand to help his companion up. 

Fingers rose slowly to wave at the boy. A human boy. It was amazing to realize she was here but to see so many people walking around only made her heart pound even louder in her chest. There wasn’t much that made him stand out but he glanced over at her and that was all it took. Ariel was sitting silently, her legs exhausted from the journey, trying to move them from the water to the bench, but it didn’t tire her excitement.

There was a large shirt covering her body and the sleeve hung slightly over one shoulder. It was something she found and at least it covered her body so she was not bare as she walked around.

He’d had to lay off plenty of staff lately, mostly around the house. He couldn’t afford to run two business’s, at least, not until the cafe was doing better. He did his best to rehire them at the cafe branches, but not everyone could travel too far, and his closest cafe already had more than enough workers.

Sarah, his assistant manager of the closest cafe, only had room for three at the cafe, mostly because a few could manage another job at this point and could handle being laid off.

So, Pitch kept who wouldn’t last without a roof over their heads, a few recent additions off the street who’d been starving and cold, Danielle, a runaway from abusive parents, Janelle, a young girl whose mother had passed, Tyrone a young man whose parents kicked him out after he came out, and another young man, Jamie.
