The Survivor by James Herbert. This actual book was the first horror book I read (a long time ago). This made me a big James Herbert fan, then horror fan and eventually a Stephen King fan. It has been great to see a lot of James Herbert posts recently and if you haven’t tried him before I would highly recommend him. He moved more into ghost stories in his later novels but his earlier ones are very horror focussed (apart from Fluke, which is very good btw). @b_for_book @d.a.butcher_author @benjaminpritchard.reads are having a June read along of this book, if you are interested then contact one of them. The book was far better than the film, even Jenny Agutter couldn’t save it.
