"What the- Jesus Christ guys aren't we supposed to check on people?" Rose huffed, pushing into the cabin, late as always. No one seemed to mind though, the other stewardesses were buzzing with talk, nearly vibrating like some freaky hive-mind of excitement. "Seriously, what the hell?" The girl frowned, cocking her head as she adjusted her uniform. The girls were all crowded at the entrance to first class, in the little area separating it from the bathrooms by a curtain.
"We've got a famous person on board." Elizabeth hissed, grinning and giddy.
"Oh?" Rose raised an eyebrow, glancing around at the others and chuckling. "Cool. Who? Someone I know?"
"Nah, you only read travel." Someone called back and she stuck her tongue out at them.
"He's an author. Really amazing fiction novels of all kinds. And he's super young too, in his twenties." Someone else informed her, and Rose was surprised the girl didn't actually swoon.
"Awesome. Wow. I'm shaking. Ah. Now can you please move your butts so we can do our jobs? Hell, go talk to him if that helps." She rolled her eyes, nudging a few of her friends.
"Oh no, we couldn't possibly!" She felt like smacking herself in the head. "We already did our rounds anyway, you're late." Another girl commented. "And the flight's delayed." A few others added. In other words, they had plenty of free time to hover a few feet from a (she guessed) attractive young author.
"You're all ridiculous. I'm gonna go collect some autographs so I don't have to endure this all the way to New York." Rose grumbled, grabbing a pile of napkins and pushing through the crowd, despite gasps of protest. Someone squeaked out his seat number and she thanked them, marching down the aisle until she spotted a blonde man bent over a notebook.
"I come on behalf of the collective." She announced, trying to hold in a laugh as she cocked her head, looking him over. Okay, she could see the appeal, but she didn't read fiction much. "Apparently you're supermegafoxyawesomehot and talented and the various and sundry women on board are irritating me with their fangirling. I request you gift me with some autographs so I can feed the rabid females and return to my day of raiding the extra cookies. If you do so I might share said cookie haul." She grinned and offered him the napkins and a pen, wondering vaguely exactly what he wrote.
