I imagined my body frozen in crystallized suspension. I imagined years flying by like the odometer in The Time Machine. After enough geological time had passed that buildings had crumbled and mountainous lands in gradual recession had seemingly melted down like ice, after my life now had become a vague and macabre dream, after my ruthlessly punishing memory forgot, I could be chiseled free—ready to rejoin the world again.
