SHE  TELLS  HERSELF  THEY’RE  NOT  REAL  NIGHTMARES  ,   usually  in  the  very  same  breath  she  hopes  for  good  dreams  .   it’s  casual  hypocrisy  ,   to  deny  she  can  is  to  ensure  it  won’t  happen  .   usually  .

jarvis  is  next  to  her  when  she  needs  him  ,   like  he  always  knows  when  she’s  in  trouble  .   grace  wakes  with  a  half - scream  ,   half - choke  on  useless  air  .   her  chest  hurts  ---   why  ?  

she  feels  fear  ,   she  knows  fear  and  it’s  not  like  this  nightmare’s  never  happened  before  .   but  every  time  she’s  lay  in  the  dark  and  stared  at  the  ceiling  ,   she’s  done  so  alone  .  

but  grace  doesn’t  even  have  the  option  to  suffer  in  silence  ,   she’s  grabbed  in  a  most  familiar  way  and  pulled  against  a  plastic  chest  .   he’s  warm  ,   not  quite  home  yet  but  he  could  be  .

PAPERS  IN  HER  HANDS ,  FAWN  EYES  WANDERING  TO  THE  INTERFACE  OF  CURRENT  WORKING  STATION .  overwhelmed  by  the  mass  of  information  she  now  had  access  to ,  mind  still  not  ready  to  believe  what  she  was  heading  into .  A  CHANCE  IN  A  LIFETIME ,  an  unique  opportunity  to  do  more  than  she  had  ever  been  able  to .  dozens  of  notes  spread  on  the  table  before  focus  was  fixed  onto  stark  technology  she  still  had  to  get  used  to .   ❛   excuse  me ,  sir .  JARVIS  ?  ?  ❜  ,  gentle  voice  broke  the  silence  as  brunette  tried  to  edit  a  specific  file  she  was  desperately  trying  to  get  some  data  out .   ❛   for  some  reason  i  can  not  get  insight  to  the  blood  examples  taken  by  shield  of  the  other  members  over  the  years .  i  can ‘ t  open  any  of  the  medic  reports .  ❜

    A slight tug upwards of Peter’s lips, the reassurance makes a sudden warm feeling appear in his chest. He knows the other is technically an AI, but he doesn’t really think that matters. From what he’s seen of them, Mr. Stark’s bots are almost human in their own ways. He’s got no idea how Jarvis can somehow DETECT his less than perfect mood right now, but the words are nice to hear.

❝   i’m  supposed  to  be  the  one  to  tell  you  that  .   ❞   her  heart  is  plastic  and  close  to  his  ,   the  new  beat  of  it  shocking  her  with  every  second  .   more  human  now  than  ever  before  ,   it  feels  right  to  have  that  sign  of  life  in  her  chest  .   though  functionally  useless  ,   it’s  right  .

SHE  FALTERS  ,   QUITE  A  BIT  CAN  SURPRISE  HER  BUT  GRACE  THOUGHT  VERY  LITTLE  COULD  STUN  .   her  cheek  rests  on  her  knuckles  ,   propping  her  head  up  .   that  wistful  ,   sleepy  expression  is  chased  away  so  quickly  by  his  question  .   grace  sits  up  straight  and  fumbles  for  an  answer  .

❝   why  ,   you’re  my  friend  ---   ❞   she  sounds  slightly  breathless  ,   just  a  touch  defensive  around  the  edges  .   her  eyes  are  water - blue  and  soft  .   her  lipstick  is  still  staining  his  mouth  ,   but  she  isn’t  lying  to  him  .   they  are  friends  ,   right  ?

SOMETIMES  ,   HER  BEST  ISN’T  GOOD  ENOUGH  .   she  stands  in  front  of  a  headstone  bearing  her  friend’s  name  .   grace  was  invited  to  write  his  eulogy  .   she  didn’t  .  

❝   you  miss  him  ,   too  .   ❞   jarvis  ,   the  brightest  man  she’s  ever  known  can’t  keep  the  concern  out  of  his  voice  .   he  wishes  tony  were  here  ,   he  wishes  grace  would  stop  crying  .   even  now  ,   her  cheeks  are  wet  .   her  mascara  is  little  ,   black  lightning  strikes  .   she  clings  to  him  as  if  uncertain  that  she  could  stand  on  her  own  .   the  urge  to  turn  and  hide  her  face  in  jarvis’  shoulder  is  strong  ,   but  she  resists  . 

@jaervis   -   it’s  crying  time ,  babey ! ↳   i lov? every single thing about your grace specifically okay like i really! liked her in the show but you've made me Love her bc you expanded on her so much more and made her entirely your own without being out of touch with canon? idk if that makes sense??? i love her interactions with jarvis and tony and how if i ask u Anything u always just Know and have an answer ready and!! your writing is so genuinely beautiful and ur so incredible with ur headcanons and tumblr wdym one thing
