The sun shone in their eyes as the morning crept upon them; not realizing how much time had passed by. It passed by as they talked through the night, it hadn’t felt that way, at least not to him. With his back resting against the headboard of the bed he looked down to find the other, resting his head in his lap, sleeping peacefully. Could they be more than just friends with benefits?  

A sudden buzz of a phone interrupted thoughts of his sleeping beauty. Not wanting to wake him with the sound, he carefully reached to answer it. All he had to do was click the power button and there it was… “Are you free tonight? I need the soft touch of your hands on my skin again.” A huge cloud shadowed over his shoulders while he whispered under his breath in return, “A fuckboy is what I fell for…”

Okay, if was just swords and no magic, likely Jael. Alim’s got the skills of an Arcane Warrior but he doesn’t have Jael’s speed or years of experience.

With magic a factor, likely Alim. I wouldn’t count Jael out, but Alim’s got a lot of tools at his disposal that Jael has no counter for.

17. What would make them break up? Would it be permanent?

It would probably be related to their big differences - even when they’re been together for a long time, there are still a few fundamental things that they sort of talk past each other on.  A slight shift in those? 

Maybe if something happened to the Circles, like some big conflict caused them to fall apart and then suddenly there were shem mages wandering around, needing some help…

Not that THAT ever happens. :D

23. How do they hug? Kiss? Tease? Flirt? Comfort?

They’re pretty physical guys when it comes to affection so, um, yes? :D They hug often and well. They kiss often and in various ways. They tease but it’s generally pretty gentle and wrapped up in the flirting. Comfort is about all of the stuff that I mentioned before.

30.  Could they manage a long distance relationship?

I don’t think so. Jael gets worried enough when Alim goes back to the Circle for visits.

42. Do they let each other get away with things that would normally bother them?

Well, we’re over our internet quota and that means no reblogging for me (thanks goodness for queues) until tomorrow. But I can upload today so here’s a rough sketch I found on my laptop of Amethyne, daughter of Iona. Jael manages to scoop her up after the Blight and bring her home to Ashalle. Over time she worms her way into Jael and Alim’s space and thus begins the ‘Alim-as-dad’ scenario that I once swore would never happen.

I had two anon asks for this (in my unbiased opinion) wonderful, incredible, amazing ship. 

How did they they meet?

Well, Duncan had already rescued Alim from the shitstorm my little mage managed to cause at Kinloch Hold. He’d gone to Denerim but didn’t find anyone to recruit there and then thought he’d visit the Dalish. He dropped Alim off at a miserable old women’s house (Mab, who may require a short story to explain how Duncan knew her) and went skipping off into the woods. 

Several days later he returned with a tall and surly elf Dalish fellow and introduced the two of them.  

Who developed romantic feelings first?

Hmmmm... I think they both started thinking there might be danger ahead around the same time but the first one to really start sinking into it was Alim. 

Who is their biggest “shipper?”

Probably Zevran at a somewhat later point because *spoilers*

When did they have their first kiss and under what circumstances?

I can’t say when, but the circumstances weren’t romantic and were premature. 

Who confessed their feelings first?

Jael. Poor, poor Jael. 

What was their first official date?

The Blight, the entire Blight.

How do they feel about double dates/group dates?

I’m not sure that’s really a thing in Ferelden. 

What do they do in their down time?

They chat about ordinary stuff, talk about plans for Ostagar, have sex, Jael reads to Alim, get together with family and friends... Lots of stuff. 

What was the first meeting of parents as an official couple like?

Jael met Alim’s mom first. It was a bit of a disaster because, well, that can’t be helped when Alim’s mother is involved. First and last time they saw each other. 

Alim met Ashalle after the Blight while they were recovering. First meeting was a little tense and cold, solely because of Alim. 

What was their first fight over and how did they get past it?

First fight as a couple? Because there’s a horrible one coming in a few chapters but that’s before the couple thing. 

As a couple it would be in Denerim alienage, when Alim is being a complete and total shit about the alienage elves. 

Which one is more easily made jealous?

Jael. He’s the more possessive one. 

What is their favourite thing to get to eat?

Ice cream of course.

Who’s the cuddly one? What their favourite cuddling position?

They’re honestly both pretty cuddly, although Jael is a lot less restrained about when the cuddling happens. Some iteration of Jael wrapped around Alim probably. 

Are they hand holders?

Not out and about. In private or with friends and family, sure. 

How long do they wait before sleeping together for the first time? What’s the circumstances?

Well, this is a spoilery question. Relative to when Alim sleeps with Zev in game, it’s pretty damn quick. Circumstances are a couple of stressed elves in need of some distraction. 

Who tops?

This fucking question. XD As I’ve said, I don’t give much thought to that so Alim doesn’t either. How he has sex with someone depends on them, the context, the mood, etc. 

Jael might have a preference that would influence things, but I am not his creator so I’m not going there. 

What’s the worst first they’ve ever gotten into?

Oh boy. There’s at least a couple during the Blight and I REALLY can’t say too much because they’re important and it would be a horrible spoiler, but both are serious and both threaten their relationship, in whatever stage it’s in when the fights happen. 

Who does the shopping and the cooking?

Jael. He’s the hunter in the relationship and although Alim’s a competent cook, his lack of interest tends to make for pretty bland fare. 

Which one is more organized and prone to tidiness?

They’re both pretty good actually. Neither one is prone to leaving much laying around. 

Who proposes?

You’ll find out. 

Do they have joined Bachelor/Bacheloette parties or separate?

There’s no bachelor party.

Who is the best man/maid of honour? Any other groomsmen or bridesmaids?

Not a part of Dalish ceremonies really.

Big Ceremony or Small?

Tiny ceremony, huge party.

Do they have a honeymoon? If so, where? 

They get away for a few days in the space at some point after the bonding ceremony but it’s more of a break before throwing themselves into more work than a honeymoon.  

Do they have children? How many?
