Finally got around to doing some Batik painting on my trip to Malaysia. As opposed to tracing an existing drawing, I created my own pattern using the flora that I came across during my travels. A very interesting technique of using wax to draw the outline first, and then dive in with the rich, pigmented color dyes. My outlines are a bit squiggly and thick - but happy with the results as a first-timer!
