hi, sorry to bother you, but i was wondering, will my letters to Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnel still be valid if I send them from my Canadian address? I am a U.S. citizen, but I am currently living outside of the country as a permanent resident of Canada, and I am worried that my address on the letter will be taken at face value, and I wont be listened to because of it. I am very grateful to you for reaching out like this, and enabling people to speak up, and im sorry to bug you over my worries.
Send a postcard, not a letter. And if youâre a US Citizen who still votes from abroad then you still definitely count.
And, if not, thereâs no harm in sending a postcard, anyway.

hi! I was just wondering, do you know if the flowering maple plant, also known as Chinese bellflower or Chinese lantern, is safe for birds to play in/be near/non toxic if ingested? We plan on getting a parakeet, poss. a cockatiel in future, and want to shop for a small ornamental tree that won't endanger our future pet with, or will have to get rid of to ensure our pets safety. If you aren't sure, do you know of any resources that deal specifically with bird safety in relation to plants? Thanks!

Iâm going to say this here (not directed at you this is just a good opportunity to say it) I am no longer answering âis x okay to feed my birdâ âcan I put x object with my birdâ questions. Search my tags, use the faq, just donât ask me unless you legitimately can not find the answer yourself or have found it but just want to clarify something.  I am currently attempting to complete an entire course within a month (normally completed in 10 months) so I wonât have to deal with it amongst the rest of my course load come September.  I need an exceptionally high grade and so far this is not going to be easy or even seeming possible, I do not have the time, energy, or patience to be answering hundreds of the same question right now, looking up sources and clarification for everyone, rewriting the same thing over and over again I simply can not do it at this time.  Iâm sorry but I can not jeopardize this. Â
If youâre wondering if things are safe to give your bird look it up, find a variety of websites, search individual factors, there is no such thing as a âone site says it allâ.
When looking for things try searching:
âis x toxic to parrotsâ rather than âsafe for parrotsâ
search specific parts of the plant (seeds, leaves, barks, saps, flowers, pollens)
use at least 5 different sites before determining if something is safe (not all forums)
check other aspects of the site to determine itâs validity (does it state misinformation elsewhere on the site such as use of grit, cohabiting, etc.)
Check google scholar
Look up general toxicity or a plant overview
having the scientific name will usually yield better results
Find out the name of the specific toxin then look up the effects of that on parrots since not everything you look up will say âx plant is toxicâ

Here! I've been hearing about the fires on the news, it's terrifying. Are you safe? Are you okay?
Your concern is touching! Iâm safe and okay. The skies here are white-grey, I canât see most of the mountains (in the Fraser Valley) and the temperature has dropped ten degrees, but thatâs the worst of it. I'm personally not scared. Quite a lot of our old-growth boreal forests will be gone by 2030-2050 and itâs better they burn and release CO2 than rot and release methane. I wasnât expecting so much fire before 2020, but it could be worse.
I am entirely and very okay with the idea of a badly drawn kakashi ask blog. Please do, if it pleases you.
