Some times you just gotta “lol” at those faces.
I finished these pieces up this morning, and I'm thrilled with how they turned out. Mesoamerican style multi-piece ear flares carved from Guatemalan blue jadeite, with henequen (agave) thread.
These pieces are 26mm (1") in size with 36mm front faces, center beads, and counterweights (three pieces per side, six total). These multi-piece pairs are always a huge challenge, and require very tight tolerances and extreme patience and care during production. Although very time consuming, they are one of my favorite styles to carve.

I finished these lovely Guatemalan jadeite flowers with red amber cabochons in hollow settings yesterday. Very happy with how they turned out. They're shipping to their new home today. It's always sad to see things disappear to the other side of the world after spending so much time making them.
