I presume mushrooms were an important part of your diet in the Underdark, considering the wide array of them available down there. What is your opinion on the surface mushrooms? Are they better or worse tasting, is the texture more or less favourable, do you consider them exotic, anything else?
You presume correctly, lady Jadette; fungi and the meat of deep rothe consist of a major part of an Underdark drow’s diet. Vegetables and fruits were available to us, but only to the upper echelons of our society, for they were rare and pricey, as you can well imagine.
I tend to avoid surface mushrooms. They are not so different from their Underdark cousins, and gods know that I’ve had enough of those! No, it would be quite the waste to not indulge in the delights that can only be found in the World Above to the absolute fullest. After all, I do need to limit how much I eat, as I have my perfect figure to maintain, so it would be most ill-advised to fill up part of that quota with something so mundane!
