Jackson X Female Reader
Request: A fluff where Jackson is dating a foreigner from America.
"So? Be mine forever?"
"What are you talking ab- OH MY GOD!"
You were from America. You had been to Korea many times both for vacation and for work. You happened to be a fashion designer. You had been assigned to a unit where you had to travel to Korea. Your company was trying to make its way into the South Korean fashion industry. After a long project, you along with the Korean branch of your company through a huge party, where you would meet Jackson.
The two of you were introduced through your mutual friend.
"Y/N, this is Jackson of GOT7. Jackson this is Y/N, she’s a fashion designer from the states." She introduced.
He reached out for your hand, kissing the top of your hand. You blushed.
"Nice to meet you, Y/N. I’m Jackson."
You giggled, "Nice to meet you too, Jackson. As F/N said, I’m Y/N."
For the rest of the party, you stayed pretty close to Jackson, getting to know each other. Neither one of you wanted the night to end. The night ended with him driving you to your hotel room, exchanging numbers and a peck on the cheek.
Since then, the two of you had been dating. Though it was very difficult because of the distance, the two of you managed. You’d always Skype him if you had even a single second of downtime. When you got a couple of days off, you managed to either travel to see him or he’d travel to see you. Whatever it took, you just wanted to be with him for long as you possibly could.
You had recently gotten a project that had required you to stay in Korea until it was finished. Your boss, expecting you to be upset, gave you the news with a frown. You couldn’t have been more excited. You were finally going to get spend some time with Jackson and trying not to cram it in.
You headed to Korea two days after the announcement. You didn’t tell Jackson. You wanted it to be a surprise. You flew in and drove to JYP building. You happened to remember the address since the last time you here. You walked in, greeting everyone. Everyone had known you around here. Jackson often talked about you, nonstop!
"He’s in the studio, recording something I believe." A staff member said, knowing you were looking for him.
You smiled and headed to his studio. You opened the door, tiptoeing in, making sure Jackson couldn’t hear or see you. He had happened to be talking with a producer.
"Do you ever not write songs about her?" The producer asked.
"Nope. If you ever miss someone as much as I miss Y/N then you would understand. The distance is killing me, but I don’t want to give up on her. I want to be with her forever. I want to marry her one day." Jackson answered, putting a hand through his hair.
You smiled brightly. "Was I supposed to hear you say that?" You chimed in softly.
Jackson’s head snapped toward you. His eyes lit up like Christmas trees as he let out a small gasp. "Y/N!" He rushed over to you, pulling you into the tightest hug you had ever received. He knocked the wind out of you for a split second.
"I’m glad to see you too." You giggled.
He let you go for a split second before smashing his lips on yours. You kissed back, wrapping your arms around his neck, smiling against his lips. You pulled away giving him a big smile.
"I really really missed you."
"I really really really missed you more." He added.
You giggled softly. He moved a strand of your hair out of your face. "I missed seeing your beautiful face in person."
He continued. "I’m not doing anything for the rest of the day how about we spend the rest of the day together?"
"That sounds like a good plan."
"Alright. Let me grab my things and we’ll head out anywhere you want to go, baby."
You nodded, pecking his cheek. "I’ll wait for you outside of the door."
You unwrapped your arms and walked out of the room, waiting for him. A couple of seconds later, he walked out of the room and wrapped his arm around your shoulders.
The two of you headed out of the JYP building and headed out of Seoul into Sokcho to visit the beach. After a while, the two of you finally made it to the beach. Though you were tired, you were extremely happy to see Jackson again. You sluggishly hopped out of his car. He watched as you sluggishly walked. He climbed out of the car, closing the door behind him. He went on the opposite side to catch up to you. Out of nowhere, he grabbed you from behind. You let out a yelp before screaming out his name playfully, "JACKSON!" He finally put you down, making you face him. He peppered your face with sweet kisses. You chuckled, feeling the tickles of his lips on your face.
The two of you spent hours on the beach, just talking and catching up. It was now completely dark. The only light shining was the moon. It had been forever since you had seen him. The two of you needed to catch up. Every now and then, you’d watch him check his phone, texting someone. At one point he excused himself to answer a call. You were suspicious but you didn’t want to be noisy. You had told him about your current project and the fact that you were going to be staying in Korea awhile.
"You want to live with me?" He questioned with a smirk.
"In a dorm with other people, I had enough of that during uni." You admitted, ruffling his hair.
He looked at you with a look full of admiration and love. He grabbed your hand, taking it into his softly.
"Since you’ve been gone, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking." He admitted.
"Woah, you can think?" You asked jokingly.
"Hey! Don’t tease me right now." He rolled his eyes before continuing. "Like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, I’ve been thinking a lot about our future."
You turned on your side to look at him. "Our future? What do you mean?"
He turned on his side, looking at you. "There’s only a matter time before you leave me again and you’ll be back in the states working hard and we probably won’t have time for each other again. Just like always. I know I can’t ask you move here, because that would be selfish of me, but could you may consider it? I want you here forever."
You pinched his cheek. "You are so precious. I’ll consider it, but whatever happens, we’ll always be together, right?"
He nodded and pecked your lips.
Some more hours, later the two of you began to walk on the beach until you saw a bunch of candles. You walked over to it, leaving Jackson behind you. The candles had spelled out something. You read it aloud. "Be mine forever?" You tilted your head in confusion.
Suddenly Jackson spoke up. "So? Be mine forever?"
"What are you talking ab- OH MY GOD!" You turned around to see Jackson on his knee with a velvet box opened to reveal a small box.
You covered your mouth as tears began to form. You nodded as tears finally fell. He slid the ring on your finger and pulled you into a tight hug. You wiped your tears on his shirt and hugged him back.
Can you make a story about how jackson would react if he's on a English speaking radio show, like arirang radio, and his girl best friend, who has a crush on, is there too and she starts speaking in like perfect mandarin and he didn't know she could speak it?
Whoop whoop first story since hiatus! To make it up to y'all for the long absence I made this one super long. Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 200 FOLLOWERS!!! Very touched by the ongoing love. Scenarios are still going to be very slow-coming because this semester isn't over yet/my hiatus isn't over yet, but in a few weeks I'll be back on my grind! Thank you again <3 <3
"Aaaand welcome back to K-Poppin' on Arirang Radio! This is your host DJ Isak with today's special guests, Jackson from GOT7 and powerful solo rookie Y/N! Woo round of applause!" The host began to clap as you and Jackson whooped and cheered along with her.
You were the newest solo artist under JYP, doing the usual rounds of radio interviews that promotions required. In order to help boost your popularity, Producer JYP put Jackson on your single as a feature, both to your immense relief and anxiety. Relief because you were actually good friends with Jackson from trainee days; you two were both foreigners, which was quick friendship material back then. Having him on the track and help you with promotions made you feel a little more at ease, knowing that he was there to guide you through the craziness. Anxiety because for some reason, you were becoming increasingly fidgety and hyperaware around him--oh who were you kidding, you knew the exact reason. You were falling for him. During trainee days you saw him more as a brother than anything else; but when he finally debuted and launched in popularity, becoming busier and busier and having less and less time to catch up with you, you realized how much you didn't want him out of your life. That only increased your motivation to debut and now--you finally made it. You were no longer trainee status, and you were hoping to shed the friend status in Jackson's heart too.
The interview went smoothly, since English was your native language. Korean was technically your mother tongue, but growing up you rarely spoke it. Inside you berated yourself for not paying more attention to your Korean, because now it was worse than what it really should be for a singer in Korea. Jackson knew language and linguistics were your weak points, and always took the time to tease you about it while showing off his own multilingual skills. But you had a surprise waiting for him, a trump card you've been nurturing for a long time, and this interview was the perfect time to unleash it.
"So if I'm hearing correctly, Jackson you use a little Chinese in your rap part of Y/N's song, right?" the DJ asked to the bluff-dol, who nodded in response. "Yes that's right, during that part of the rap I'm talking about being world famous so I speak some Chinese to show how international I am." Jackson commented, ending his explanation with his signature hyena laugh.
"Ahh I see, that makes a lot of sense. Jackson I heard you can speak up to 6 languages, is that true?" Jackson quickly affirmed that by whipping into "hello my name is Jackson" in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Japanese, and obviously Korean. As DJ fussed over how cool that was, you rolled your eyes; still, no matter how many times he did that, you were still secretly impressed.
"Wow, that's crazy! Wah Jackson has so many charms...how about you Y/N? Can you speak any other languages?" The DJ switched the subject to you, but before you could answer, another one of Jackson's hyena laughs pierced the air.
"Are you kidding me? This girl is super talented, I know, but languages is NOT one of her strong points! I'm from Hong Kong and my Korean is better than hers!" guffawed Jackson, to the hearty laughter of the DJ. You felt a vein popping. Time to use your trump card and wipe the smirk off this bluff-dol's face.
"你在说什么啊,你不知道我中文多棒吗?[What are you saying, don't you know how good my Chinese is?]" you quickly retorted, trying to control the smug look on your face.
Jackson almost fell out of his chair when he heard the Mandarin that poured from your mouth. Was this for real right now? You sometimes had to ask him for help with just Korean, and to his utter shock not only were you speaking Mandarin, but pretty good Mandarin.
As the DJ commented on your impressive Mandarin skills, you relished the dumbstruck expression on Jackson's face. All those hours spent struggling and suffering with Mandarin was worth it. He had totally underestimated you, and you had just totally one-upped him. To be honest, the reason why you decided to study Mandarin wasn't because you were just trying to prove him wrong--okay, maybe that was part of it. But the main reason why you slaved over those textbooks and watched bad Chinese dramas for hours because you wanted to talk to him in his native language. There were so many things about him you wanted to know, and there were only so much you could learn with the language barrier in place. So you decided to take the step to demolish that wall, and this was the fruit of your labor: pretty damn good Mandarin.
The interview eventually moved in a different direction, and it was time for you and Jackson to give a live performance of the track. The music began, and the two of you started to vibe with the rhythm. As you bounced to the tempo on the balls of your foot, you didn't notice Jackson watching you out of the corner of his eyes. Simply put, he was impressed. A faint whisper ran through his mind, a musing as to why you might have put in so much effort to learn Mandarin. He laid the thought to rest, deciding to ask you about it later; but regardless, he was moved. You were already starting to move in a different light in his mind, and this linguistic display only made you shine brighter. He not only knew better than anyone how bad you were at languages, but also how hard-working you were. He knew how many hours you spent at the JYP practice rooms, drilling your routines over and over, how much energy and effort you directed all for the sake of your debut. He noticed, and admired you for your tireless attitude.
When it was time for his rap part, he instinctively glanced at you when he reached the Chinese portion. Your eyes locked, and for a fleeting moment you thought you saw something intense, something yearning, yet also something tender in his gaze. But you didn't have the time to think about it, you were about to enter the final chorus. So you closed your eyes and sang into the microphone, feeling his stare with every atom in your skin.
----------------------------------------------
"Thank you for your hard work, thank you everyone!" You bowed several times and showed your appreciation to the DJ and the staff, before stepping into the waiting room with your manager. That was the end of your schedule today, and you were more than ready to head to bed. As you pulled on your jacket, someone came up behind you and threw your hood up over your head.
"Hey Jackson." you chirped without turning around to look.
"你怎么知道是我啊?[How did you know it was me?]" playfully asked Jackson as he stepped into your line of sight. The sudden Mandarin caught your attention, and you grinned at the challenge he was presenting.
"除了你以外,谁会干跟我那样闹?[Other than you, who would mess around with me like that?]" you calmly responded, as you zipped up your coat.
"告诉我,你为什么开始学中文? [Tell me, why did you start learning Chinese?]" Jackson questioned you. You two, along with the rest of your staff, began to exit the building towards the parking lot.
"因为我要给你表现我的语言技能多厉害![Because I wanted to show you how great my language skills are!]"
A smirk began to appear on Jackson's lips. "真的吗?Not because you wanted to talk to me in my native language?" That you weren't expecting, and choked up all the Mandarin you knew.
"Wh-what?" You manage to sputter out, and Jackson started cackling at your reaction. That was all he needed to hear to know he was right, and you knew he knew you knew he was right. You playfully smacked him on the arm, refusing to say anything else in case he used it against you; still, you couldn't help to smile along at the sound of his glee.
"Hahaha, I knew it. Thanks y/n, I really appreciate it." Jackson pulled you into a side-hug with his right arm, lightly half-patting your head, half-resting his hand on your head. He had never done that before. You flushed at the unexpected skinship, wondering if the staff would say anything about it. Though neither of you explicitly touched the subject of your relationship with each other, somehow you had the warm feeling that right now, it was heading in the right direction.
The two of you walked back to the vans in that position, Jackson refusing to let his arm go. He finally took his arm away when it was time for you two to get into different cars. Before you said your goodbyes though, Jackson spoke first.
"Hey y/n...you're going to burst when I tell you this." Jackson warned, but with a goofy grin that let slip he was going to enjoy this burst.
"What? What is it?"
"Well...your Mandarin is really good, especially for someone as bad with languages as you are...," Jackson ignored your "Yah!" and continued on, "but the thing is, Mandarin isn't my native language." He waited to see your face completely drop as that fact sunk in before he finished with, "I actually speak Cantonese. I'm from Hong Kong remember."
He was right, you were ready to burst. Jackson gave another hearty laugh at your crestfallen look, before patting you on the arm. "Don't worry, it's not too hard. The written Chinese is all the same, it's just a different way of speaking it. Besides, with me as your tutor, even someone like you can pick up Cantonese quickly."
Jackson quickly said his goodbyes and see you laters, leaving before you could throw back another cheeky answer. You stared after him as he walked away to his van, joking around with his staff. Somehow your feelings managed to reach him, and despite all the future jokes you knew Jackson was going to make about you confusing Mandarin and Cantonese, you didn't mind. Your phone buzzed, interrupting your thoughts. A text from Jackson, your screen alerted, and you quickly unlocked your phone to check what it is.
"我没有更早告诉你,但是当你开始说中文,你是真的很酷。其实,你所有的时间真的很酷。
[I didn't tell you this earlier, but when you started speaking Chinese earlier, you were really cool. Actually, you're really cool all the time.]"
