So this is just a little snippet from the first chapter of Buried Bones, the final part in the Chenford/Dadford and Momchen (is that the term we're using for Lucy in regards to Tamara?) series I've been working on:
Jackson smiled in return before returning his attention to the road and asking casually, “Soo…where is Bradford taking you on your date?”
Lucy sputtered, shooting him a wide-eyed look. “It’s not a date, it’s dinner—as friends.”
“Friends my ass, Lucy,” Jackson narrowed his eyes at her. “You two literally pick different places to try out, and many of them are places where you get all dressed up, we never do that.”
“Yes, we do,” Lucy glared. “Remember the sushi place? Or that steak place?”
“You didn’t spend three hours picking out a dress when we went out to dinner, Luce, and you probably didn’t text your best friend asking what he thought about the dress,” Jackson watched her out of the corner of his eye as she fell silent and added softly, “And I know for a fact you didn’t have heart eyes when you were looking at me like you do with Bradford.”
