How I feel about this character:you don’t want me to get into this.
ETA: i feel really bad for writing up a whole thing about sandor and not sansa so i’m going to do that now ok so like
first of all i love sansa stark i have loved her ever since she said she loved lemoncakes because i also love lemon flavoured pastries like this is where it all started and i have been along for the ride ever since.
second of all i love sansa stark because she is literally the metatextual centre of asoiaf like. her journey mirrors the journey of the reader. like just like how the first time reader goes into this story with an idea of what a high fantasy story is in their heads, so too does sansa go into the king’s landing storyline with this romanticized idea of what ykno a medieval fantasy is. and they both have this like jarring moment of disillusionment when ned stark’s head gets cut off. like that is the moment both the reader and sansa wake the fuck up and realize that this story is not what either of them expected. and throughout they both eventually learn the ins and outs of the game of thrones and how to navigate all the twists and turns that grrm throws at them and yeah sansa is the reader-stand-in basically.
also i love her because despite all the torment and the terror and the abuse she has faced she has remained so idealistic and optimistic and like i love the fact that she hasn’t succumbed to the whole cynical outlook that littlefinger and cersei have adopted.
also she’s so fucking intelligent and empathetic and is so diplomatically savvy and she is going to end up in a position of power like all of this is evident even from her first chapter when she navigates her way successfully out that potentially disastrous situation with renly, barristan, joffrey, sandor, ilyn payne, and cersei like i am so mad that that moment didnt make it into the show like it the defining sansa moment for me it perfectly outlines all her strengths and it foreshadows ykno the tools she has at her disposal and how she uses them esp when shit goes down in acok and asos like
idk man this is getting rambley i love sansa stark i love i love i love i love favourite fictional character.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: sort of sandor ? but with not without loooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaad of conditions. like i wouldnt ever want sansa to be with the sandor that we see during the course of the story. he’d have to really get a fucking hold of his shit before i could even consider the possibility of something romantic going on between them. but their dynamic is fascinating and all i really want for them is to just meet one more time which may or may not happen because he may or may not actually be dead whoops
also strangely brienne. i think brienne would be good for sansa, and i think sansa would be good for brienne.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: sansa/tyrion tbh like i say this a lot in the tags when i reblog gifs of them but like i really do honestly believe that if circumstances had been different they could have been such good friends and allies. like they couldve been this fantastic power duo like with sansa’s diplomacy skills and tyrion’s political savvy they could’ve rly been a force to be reckoned with oh my golly gosh.
My unpopular opinion about this character: i dont think she’s going to become like a master manipulator like littlefinger soz guys. she’s totally going to end up in a position of power but i dont think that she’s going to have to like go comletely rogue in order to accompish that
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:Â i wish sansa finds happiness and agency. and becomes de facto ruler of the north but w/e.
give me a character and I’ll break their ass down
