if i had a nickel for every time a man named jack who's fond of calling himself captain fell in love with a blonde woman and a dark haired man who were in love with each other, and then got separated from them after they assumed he died (but actually he didn't die, he came back to life), i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but its weird that it happened twice.
