I’ve honestly been thinking about this for a while now and I think @lightningstorm115 have an awesome representation of what I think. To me Jackson’s parents were the type to choose favourites and sadly Jackson was the one who got overshadowed and practically a shadow in the family pictures. Any time his twin sister got a good grade? Celebration like it was someone’s birthday or something. Anytime Jackson got a good grade for once? All he would get is a distracted “Oh that’s nice… but you could do better” and then go back to calling family members like they had just won the lottery about how his twin sister got an A+ on her report card. In Jackson’s parents eyes Jasmin(his twin sister)was the their miracle, the daughter they’ve always wanted, the future doctor or lawyer, and Jackson was just the sequel no one cared about.

It affected him a lot when he was kid, that’s why he has this attitude. He believed that he had to be the very best to get his parents attention. But he stopped caring once he got into his pre-teen years, and that’s when the attitude got worse. He was constantly sneaking out at night, not doing homework, acting out in class etc. When he discovered SC3 it sorta became his new life, because one of the things he liked playing it for was the praise and trophy he got when he won. SC3 was the only thing that would give him any sort of praise or reward. It became something he could do and not have to interact with anyone one on one and still get rewards and that was everything to him.

But his parents gave him attention when he started playing video games and discovered more of the internet, but not that good kind of an attention. It was the type where his parents would compare him to Jasmin to his face, how he was wasting his life, that he’s a disappointment to the family name. Thats why Jackson moved out on his own when he was around 15 years old. It’s not that it hurt his feelings or anything because he was numb to it now… it was because they were simply just annoying mosquito that would never shut the fuck up.
