#jack's personal stuff

My last presentation for this semester is due on Thursday. I have read a lot but have not prepared anything yet. I am supposed to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. I am so tired from the week-long excursion, I slept for 11 hours and I am still exhausted. I need to take Dima to the vet, he is not eating properly and lost a bit too much weight. And I need to catch up with Latin. I also need to pick up my spare key before my friend who took care of my cats in my absence goes on a well deserved vacation. Someone please do something for me to survive this week.

I really had to dig deep into the vast mess that is the internet to find a photo of a specific sarcophagus. But it was so worth it. The photos are high quality and the sarcophagus is not only beautiful but also depicts exactly what needed an example to reference in my next presentation. I can go to bed peacefully now.

Only now it's really sinking in that I have to face my teacher and her colleagues for the oral exam. And I have not studied anymore the past few days. I also stayed up too late yesterday. And generally didn't give a fuck. Just now my brain and body remember how socially awkward I am, especially in situations like oral exams where I have to look at the people judging my imperfect knowledge. (Knowing anything perfectly is an insane standard that is not healthy but I cannot help it. I really hope my brain snaps into exam mode when it's my turn later today...)

O summer, the time when my casual looks give middle aged adventurer guy aka. my colleagues tell me I need a whip to complete my Indiana Jones fit or ask if I am on my way to a safari.

Final Latin exam in 45 min. Wish me luck or get me a Cicero shaped punch back.

Five weeks of excavation in September are going to happen. I can look for flights now. I will not cope well with the heat and the Mediterranean sun. But alas. I am so excited. I really needed some good news and something big to look forward to in my life.
