If you read my character list, you’ll see that I haven’t finished watching Season 14 and hence I haven’t reached that point in the plot, so I can’t write this, sorry.

Jack Kline x Gender!Neutral Reader

Jack is staring. I know what he’s thinking. He doesn’t know what he did wrong. I’m sure he asked Sam and Dean, and even Cas, for advice. He has already confessed, been patient with my reluctance and kind towards me despite not understanding. What he doesn’t realize is that he did nothing wrong. The problem is not with him. I’m the problem.

“I-I…” He stutters, still watching me in confusion and concern. “I don’t understand…”

“I don’t want to hurt you!” I exclaim in frustration, finally facing him.

“Why would you hurt me?” Jack blinks repeatedly, also shaking his head in astonishment. “You… Y/N, you would never hurt me…”

“No one can love someone as broken as I am!” I reply, now feeling tears in my eyes. My voice grows shaky. “And I… I don’t know if I could treat you like you deserve, I’m… I’m too messed up to-”

“I love you!” He interrupts me, gifting me with a hopeful smile. Jack dares to gently take my hands in his. “And I know you can love me too”

“I already love you, stupid” I chuckle, even if furiously wiping my tears before they can roll down my cheeks. “I love you too, but…”

As I trail off, he takes the opportunity to speak again. To reassure me with his comforting words. Him and his pure kind heart. How can I not love him?

“Then there is no problem” He smiles again, so sweetly that I grin too. “I’m willing to give it a try if you are… Give us a chance”

I’m scared, but at the same time I really want to open up to him. As he said, to give us a chance. As all response, I nod my head. Jack laughs in pure glee and hugs me tight.

Taken aback by the sudden gesture, I freeze for a moment. However, I soon melt in his embrace and wrap my arms around him as well. My heart is racing. But I want to try it. We love each other, that’s all we need.

I noticed how Jack couldn’t stop looking at me. He was staring. I didn’t blame him, though, it must have been strange. Surely, he needed some time to get used to the change. 

He averted his eyes when I reciprocated his gaze. Smiling a little, I piped up to talk to him.

“Are you okay?” I asked him kindly, causing his eyes to land on me again.

“You just look… different” Jack mumbled, looking away yet again. 

“Just remember that I’m not human anymore” I shrugged, trying to take importance out of the matter. “I’m still the same, though”

He slowly nodded his head, but in the end he smiled a little. I sighed in relief that he was growing used to it little by little. It had surely been a crazy day, but it was comforting to know that things hadn’t changed between us.

“I’m just glad you’re still here with us, Y/N”

“Me too… I would have missed you”

Jack’s timid smile grew into a bright grin, and he opened his arms. Gladly, I slipped into his embrace and treasured his familiar warm touch. As I pressed my face against his shoulder, it all felt alright. I felt at home again.

I didn’t know how I was back, but… I was. I knew this wasn’t heaven, nor hell, just… life. I had returned somehow. One moment I was dying and the next I found myself here. Where was everyone?

I walked aimlessly, looking for Sam, Dean, Cas or Jack. Everything was strangely silent, telling me that something out of the ordinary had happened. For a change. But it never happened to me. They had done something. 

As I wandered off, I spotted a familiar figure in the distance. He walked with his head low and his shoulders slouched, but I recognized him.

“Jack?” I called out, causing him to stop.

His shoulders tensed up, and he lifted his head. Slowly turning around, he stared at me in disbelief. A pained expression occupied his face as a deep frown had settled on his brow.

“Y/N?” He uttered, not even blinking at the sight. “You’re alive…” 

“I-I…” Just as astonished as him, I struggled to find words. Jack quickly advanced towards me. “To be honest, I’m not sure what happened and-”

When his arms urgently wrapped around me, I interrupted myself. He let out a shaky exhale, hugging me tight against him.

“I never thought I’d see you again…” He whispered, pressing his face against my shoulder. 

“I… I’m glad to see you too” I mumbled clumsily, hurrying to hug him back when I realized I wasn’t. “For a moment, I thought I was in heaven” 

“No” He told me, slowly and gently pulling away. “We brought you back” 

“Brought me back?” I frowned, noticing the hesitant and cautious look in his eyes. “What are you talking about?” 

Jack pursed his lips and sighed.

“We have a lot to talk about”

Jack Kline:

You were in the middle of a hunt when it happened

A demon kidnapped you and took you away from your group

And taken to their hideout, a dark and frightening place

Sam, Dean, Cas and Jack were worried sick about you

They also felt guilty that you might suffer on their behalf

Indeed, the demons tried to get some information out of you

Where the Winchesters are hiding, what are their weaknesses

How can they get past the angels and their defences

But you remain loyal and not say anything

Which only angers the demons and make them hurt you

Sam and Dean soon find you and rescue you, taking you out of there

Their priority is to get you away from that place while they stay and fight

So Jack (as planned) would be the one to take you to safety

He would wrap his arms around you protectively

And hold you up seeing as you’re weak after their torture

You’re worried about Sam, Dean and Cas in there, fighting

But Jack reassures you that they will be okay, they always are

While you get inside the Impala parked out there, you’re shaking

Jack is extremely thoughtful and attentive and takes good care of you

He takes his jacket off and puts it over you to warm you up

And to comfort you, remind you that what you went through is over

“It’s okay now, Y/N, you’re safe here” He softly whispers to you

His arms never leave their place around you, trying to comfort you

You notice him frowning when he takes a good look at you, though

He’s looking at all the bruises on your face, arms and hands

Asking for permission first, he wants to know if you want him to heal you

You nod, feeling safe with him and trusting him completely

Jack’s hands are delicate and gentle as he takes your face in them

And focuses to heal your bruises, careful not to touch them

His touch is so soft, almost like he’s afraid to hurt you further

Once you’re healed, you feel slightly better about it all

You lean your head in his shoulder and just close your eyes

And heave a sigh when the other three return safe and sound

Then, you all return home, you still wrapped in Jack’s arms
