vanilla: how i found your blog

what are your thoughts on school? Personally, I like it? It gives me something to do, and the classes I take now are really interesting. I had one last year that really stressed me out beyond reason coughlatincough nobodyinourclasscouldtranslateanythingcough but I got through it so it’s a lot smoother sailing now. I feel like the subject matter gets easier every year, and with the exception of that one course I don’t find the workload too hard?

1:What is your name and does it mean anything?

Jennifer, Or Jay, depending on the gender. Usually the first. Jennifer means white, fair, “White enchantress”, “White wave”, or ‘yielding’. When my dad heard that, he said well, white and fair make sense (I am pasty as heck), but yielding was way off. :U I was named after one of my mom’s best friends. Jay either means the bird or ‘to rejoice’, and I originally got it from my cousin’s nickname, and the first letter of my own name, to use as a pen name. Sort of dropped that idea for now, but I’m keeping the name.

3:What position do you normally sleep in?

5:Who is/was your favorite teacher in high school and why?

Ooooh this one’s tough. Toss-up here. Young’s definitely in the running, cause he’d basically let me do whatever and we’d chat about comics and he’d show me the video game art he was hired to do and stuff. He was cool. McCourt was rad as heck, too, and, again, let me do basically anything in English. McClaghan (sp?) once told me that since I was the only one in the class who always had the homework done on time, I could basically ignore due dates for projects as long as they weren’t crazy late. And Mr Keene was totally chill and planned the best field trips. AND SCARBAR WAS THE SWEETEST THING EVER. Soo probably Young, but the others are up there 100000%.

7:Do/Did you participate in any sports while in school?

Not school sports, but I’ve been doing karate since I was seven, Kung Fu for at least two years now and Lion Dance for about the same. And I did Improv for a bit high school which is surprisingly more of a workout than you’d think. And of course, Band, where you help carry everything and set things up and carry things for concerts and back and forth from school and break into the bus at Wonderland with Soo and Mickey when the driver skips out on us.

9:Have you ever given blood?

No. I really, really want to, but I’m actually really afraid of needles. ;^; I don’t even know why, they just really really creep me out. (Personally, I find it logical to think that being stabbed by a stranger is bad, but, I digress).

12:How did you meet your best friend and why did you become friends?

I don’t know :O One I met because we were in the same class in elementary, and I think we became friends just because you know /everyone/ at that age and she was (and is) swaggie as heck and I really don’t remember how Hannah and I met? It feels like I’ve known her forever. We just clicked, I think, we were close like instantly. She’s my <>. I love my girls, yo.

24:How many pillows do you sleep with?

Well, first I’d probably freak out cause somebody spent money on me :o, but I’d have to say... Maybe Rise Against? Their new album is really good... Course, Three Days Grace is, too, and I wasn’t sure I’d still like them after Adam left, but the new guy is great. And then there’s Fall Out Boy... Ooh, and Sent By Ravens. Something loud, usually, and something I can sing along to or use to help motivate characters when I write. I honestly feel like I’m back in grade school, going through all this (I graduated last year this shouldn’t make me feel old). 

Alright, alright, final answer: Gerry O’Kane.  Unfortunately, SoundCloud took off the playlist I used to listen to, but I think those links work? It’s actually really quiet and uplifting music compared to the other stuff, so 100% give it a listen if you can.

HIBISCUS:Did you ever play an instrument? If so what?

:D Yes, actually! I play alto saxophone, learned how starting in grade nine. I took drums for a bit, too, but I only really stuck with sax. It’s been a while (mostly due to lack of music), but I bet I can get back into it, if I get the time. 

(I named my sax Alistair and for some reason that helped me play it better :U)
