Inya’s eyes turned Bosede’s way, brow knit. “It’s 18°C outside.” 

“Exactly—too damn hot…For the beginning stages of winter anyway.” He complained.

“You ever considered that maybe the Jabari just wear too much fur?…” She suggested, brows raised. She had no idea who’d given it to him, but he was waving his face with a foldable fan with Wakanda University’s logo on it. 

“Have you ever considered that main landers don’t wear enough?” He snarked.

Her eyes rolled. “Well, congratulations; that’s why you’re hot.”

He threw her an indulgent smirk. “Thank you, little sister. I have turned quite a few heads today.” 

Inya shook her head, scrutinizing the two brothers at her side before her eyes inevitably landed on M’Baku. “You sure the two of you weren’t split from the same cracked egg?” 

Her question brought Bosede’s smirk to a grin. If she hadn’t heard the story from Enitan, she’d never have guessed that he wasn’t born into the family. Looking at things from the outside-in, he and his brother seemed almost nothing alike. But all it took was for one of them to open their mouths to show how equally razor-sharp their wits could be.

M’Baku paused his near-obsessive vigilance of the area to cock a brow down at her. “Perhaps not the same egg, but certainly the same basket.” He replied. His eyes had already shifted back to the surrounding area as he spoke. “I like to imagine he tumbled from an adjacent branch and fell into my mother’s nest.”

Inya blinked. Huh. That was a surprisingly thoughtful analogy…

“So it was his head that cracked on the way down…” She mused. 

“Pretty much.”
