“Do you always have to insult the ghost of the place we’re at?”

“Well, it’s not like the ghost can insult me back.” Wally turned, shining his flashlight at Jaime’s face. “Don’t tell me you actually believe in ghosts. Like the kind of thing that you find at Walgreen’s around Halloween that makes the creepy noises and looks like a skeleton in a white sheet.” Wally turned back around, walking further into the abandoned building. “Besides, the ghost here is a total wuss if he hasn’t come out here yet.”

“I ask myself that a lot, too. I don’t understand why I do these things.”

“Well, mijo, then you should just...stop trusting your instincts with these things,” she pointed out with a laugh, crouching down next to his bed and resting her forearms against it. “Do you really feel that sick? I told you that you can’t trust 1970s street meat,” she said, crinkling up her nose. Selina sighed. “What do you need? I’ll take care of you. For now.”
