“Well--”

Callie was hosting her annual Halloween party at the house and she’d planned on using the day to decorate the house with her daughter. They’d only just begun to lug the decorations out of the closet when Callie was paged to the hospital. On her way out the door Callie had called Jo over to help Kelsey with the decorating. Although it probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do Kelsey had left the front door open so Jo could walk right in when she arrived. That way she could avoid the awkwardness of opening up the door for her. She’d known the doctor for quite sometime but she still wanted to avoid a moment like such.

While she waited for Jo to arrive, Kelsey was seated on the floor in the living room sorting through the boxes of decorations.

“Do I have to buy you a drink first?”
