Hate it, love it, all the rumors a lot of people seem worried about just confirm the “everyone is biased, in pain and lying to themselves and others” show is going to go there. These are not good people; while they are all victims, surviving as a vampire in and of itself requires being a murderer. In their personal relationships they are all, at minimum, incredibly dysfunctional. Approaching the show (or the books) expecting ‘goodness’ or objective truth from any of them — or expecting minimisation of the horror elements and abuse — is not just an exercise in frustration but also frankly diminishes the material.

Idk if anyone on tumblr listens to behind the bastards but it's so funny to me how robert (the host) has the biggest crush on sam reid and just had to let everyone know multiple times

We need to stop referring to adaptations as fanfic because fanfic is created by fans for fans for free and the love of the game without input from original creators while adaptations are, ultimately, created for profit. Directors/producers/show runners etc. can be in it for the love of the source material and can be faithful to it but they have actual rights bought with more money than most of us will earn in a lifetime with the intention of making back that investment and the some. We should have different standards for the general public having fun on their free time and for professionals hired by giant corporations to make them money but we shouldn’t denigrate an adaptation we hate or defend one we love by lumping it with fanfic…they’re fundamentally different things.

If you don't care about the band; if you don't care about Lestat or his backstory. This season is gonna be rough for you. I love loustat, but the book and this season is about a lot more than just a ship. Even if I believe loustat is the heart of the show. So, idk. Get into it.

I have to give it to ITVW, because I didn't originally think they'd go there with Lestat and Gabrielle and have it be quite as uncomfortable as it is.
