you see, turkuzbek is a very popular ship(lie) between the countries turkey and uzbekistan. you see, this dynamic works because of the so-called "opposites attract trope" in which the two personalities clash together, but that is exactly what draws them to each other in the first place. uzbekistan is wary of change and reluctant to do so, as well as being afraid to break the serious, formal and ladylike facade she keeps up; however turkey encourages and helps her get out of her shell. they are both "silly and funny(tokki, 273)" and have both engaged in kicking irans butt before. turkey, in the modern day, seems to struggle to worm his way into uzbekistan's icy heart, but he doesn't seem to know that he's already won. for bonus fun and sillies, nyo uzbekistan and turkey would be such a stupid dynamic, whether platonic or romantic
moving on, we have what the author would like to call "the island lesbians," or otherwise known as the ship between jeju and okinawa. the key selling point here is their historical parallels of being treated as lesser than compared to the mainlanders, not to mention their dark pasts of uprisings being put down by the main governments.
