48. out of habit

The first time she had kissed anyone, it was a rather traumatic experience for the receiver.  Over time, she’s learned when kissing is acceptable and when it’s not.  And when it comes to Joseph, sudden hugs and butterfly kisses were acceptable.  It was a little thing, something she shared with Naida and Joseph.  Kai will get hugs but that’s not as often.  And Alec, well, oddly Alec did not fit into this category.  Joseph had brought a gift back from New York for her.  A spring dress from a window.  She’s giggling and telling him thank you.  Leaning over, she kisses his cheek, holding the dress to her chest, as if it was going to be taken away.  There won’t be much of a reaction.  He’s kissed her forehead in the past.  Much like Naida will often do and Xanthe has wondered if their mannerisms have blended together through the years.  “I really like it,” she tells him before running off to try it on immediately.  

Past 7 PM.  Naturally, Joseph was late with whatever he was doing these days.  He sat in the living room, beside Naida and across from Xanthe and Alec, waiting on the psychic.  He leaned back, sighing out.  The front door opened and revealed the missing member of the team.   “Took your time, didn’t you?”
