This line has stuck with me over the years simply because of its implications of Kai already being pretty certain that his responsibility in unleashing link joker has something to do with Aichi's existence disappearing before Gaillard ever out right points the finger at him (or yknow straight up punches him.)
yet even if it's the punishment he feels its not right.
mostly because in someway Aichi's disappearance is a punishment to him to Kai and its like why is his existence being punished for my mistakes i need to fix that. Obviously not knowing the why to all of this exactly yet.
