for several years of my life i assumed (and was told by adults) the severe pain from the muscular compensation chain caused by my bilateral limb difference was just from carrying my schoolbag around all day. and like yeah, we should talk about the obvious medical negligence there and dismissal of disabled experiences by healthcare providers but can we also talk about how fucking terribly we treat 11-15 year olds? the fact that you have to carry around a bag half your weight (and punished for bringing the wrong books or equipment) for 8+ hours a day, and it's normalised that that often results in chronic back pain or injury? waking up at 7am and getting home at 5pm just to do another 2+ hours of unpaid work? i'm 21 now and i haven't forgotten how bad it was

really don't enjoy the genre of post that's like "it's hard to accept that being physically disabled just inherently means never being able to do any of the activities you want to do or achieve any of your dreams and spending your entire life suffering. but that's how it is and that's okay 💕" like have you guys considered the possibility you are depressed

nothing better than The Wheelchair i'm sorry. all this time and money and effort trying to keep me walking and i'm still in agony but the perfect solution literally exists and the only thing keeping me from using it 24/7 is structural and internalised ableism. noleg pain no awkward appliances strapped to your body no struggling to walk while carrying stuff no skin abrasions or passing out in the heat or having people walk into me because i'm too slow. sit me down and give me two big ass wheels and suddenly the world is my fucking oyster

disabled people especially disabled women need to be hornier. pleaaase no more disability discord servers with trigger lists longer than a cvs receipt and separate nsfw chats. disability blogs that only talk about disability itself like it has to be a sanitized topic kept seperate from the rest of the reality of adult life. posts about disabled sex that use medical terms and feel almost clinical. our sexuality has been taken from us for so long reclaiming and normalizing it has to be an integral part of our fight against ableism. please
