the sounds and smells of the restaurant are familiar and comforting, but his surroundings and company for dinner are foreign and unpredictable, keeping him close to the edge of his seat. in all his life, despite living only miles away from the sleek, modern building, itachi has never been inside it before today. ( too expensive. ) it wasn't that he was starving by any means but he was raised to be thoughtful and thrifty with his finances and thought splurging on something like food, as close to his heart as it is, was a waste ( he can almost hear his mother's softened voice anytime he thinks it. )
he was, admittedly, amidst the loud and ricocheting voices of both his parents in his head for even accepting the invitation here, ( the yakuza, itachi? after everything we've done for you? ) but his parents were long gone, life had carried on without them, worse than before, and he was hungry.
"i assume dinner will be your treat." he declares humbly, breaking the silence.
