Nothing. Most authors are not part of the writer's room or writing process for film/tv adaptations. Jenny Han doing TSITP is a rare exception. There is a very strict negotiation process that happens when a book is optioned. The authors are paid very well for that option and very early on let producers/showrunners know how involved they want to be and that is later negotiated in contract formally.
