he  glanced  up  when  the  blonde  stepped  into  his  tent  ,  eyebrows  raising  ever  so  slightly  as  a  SMIRK  spread  across  his  features.  was  he  amused  ?  very  much  so.  mainly  because  he  had  been  trying  to  assure  the  queen  that  she  was  allowed  to  share  his  bed  whenever  she  wanted   &   it  seemed  that  she  finally  had  been  given  in.    ❝  welcome, my darling   ❞     lips  remained  curled  in  the  smirk  as  he  moved  over  to  let  her  move  down  beside  him  ,  lips  pressing  against  her  CHEEK  before  he  pulled  the  covers  up  around  her  properly.    ❝  did you hear a wild animal or did you just miss me  ?   ❞     he  placed  his  head  on  her shoulder  ,  light  CHUCKLE  passing  his  lips.  he  knew  he  was  lucky  ,  luckier  than  anyone  in  arendelle   &   the  fact  that  she  trusted  him  enough  to  be  this  close  with  him  ,  made  his  whole  heart  flutter.

          it  wasn’t  unlike  him  to  be  found  within  the  kitchen  walls  late  at  night  when  the  rest  of  the  castle  was  tucked  away  in  bed.   there’s  still  a  wild  sort  of  freedom  about  him,  never  content  to  be  confined  to  one  space  or  another.   but  really  ---  he  had  just  needed  a  glass  of  water  before  a  second  attempt  at  sleep  could  be  made.   it’s  upon  his  trek  back  to  his  room  that  he  sees  firelight  glowing  through  a  cracked  doorframe.   he  stops,  pondering,  before  a  hand  reaches  out,  a  gentle  knock  upon  the  door  before  he  pushes  it  open  and  looks  inside.   

          ❛  can’t  sleep?  ❜   his  tired  features  are  soft  as  he  gazes  in  at  the  woman  sat  upon  the  couch  within  the  room.   perhaps  he  could  have  left  well  enough  alone,  but  elsa  was  family.   who  would  he  be  if  he  didn’t  check  in  on  her?

he  stops  in  the  doorway  ,  body  resting  against  the  opening  while  he  took  a  deep  breath.  how  long  had  he  tried   ?  to  get  some   REACTION   out  of  her  that  wasn’t  so  cold.  now  he  had  gotten  it  but  it  wasn’t  when  he  wanted  it.  they  had  been  betrothed  since  birth  ,  he  hadn’t  expected  it  to  be  easy  but  he  had  expected  it  to  work  out.  they  both  had  tried  their  best  ,  he  liked  to  believe  that  ,  however  ,  he  was  tired  to  be  met  by  a  cold  shoulder.   ❝   you have had a year to realize that   ❞    shoulders  slumped  slightly  ,  body  turning  so  he  could  face  her  properly.  maybe  he  was  being  cruel    &   too  harsh  but  THE  PRINCE  couldn’t  do  it  anymore.  he  couldn’t  waltz  around  waiting  for  something  that  wouldn’t  happen.   ❝   i’ve tried to get you to see that i care   ❞    

lips  pursed  for  a  moment  before  he  slowly  moved  towards  her  ,  eyes  closing  for  a  split  second.  he  loved  her  ,  his  entire  heart  was  beating  with  love  for  her.  even  if  it  had  been  unanswered  until  now.  slowly  he  moved  in  to  EMBRACE  her  ,  lips  pressing  against  her  temple  while  the  grip  of  her  dress  tightened.  if  he  LET  GO  now  ,  it  would  all  crumble.   ❝   please let me in, i need you too   ❞    voice  remained  a  whisper  ,  gently  nuzzling  her  neck.    ❝   but if you can’t let me in properly, i can’t stay   ❞    

❝   you’re my ice business now baby  ❞

it’s a day inside, today. nick’s finished building the small stable on the side of the cabin for chestnut, and after feeding his horse breakfast, he’d escaped the cold in favor of making himself and his guest their own. he doesn’t have much; it’s humble, compared to what he might be used to back at the palace, but he seems to like it better this way. has gotten eggs from the market, and baked his own bread. made a pot of tea for them to share before he went to tell elsa that everything was ready.
