Callisto6 Issue 2.4: Â Not your Time. (Not Alone)
Thereâs a moment when it all slows down. When you realise there was nothing you could do. Realise your own mortality. Realise what you must do. There is this single moment.
 Anton
They say, âYouâll know what to do, when it happens.â But I never imagined âitâ would be her body on the ground. I look those villains in the eye, see their intent. No. Not death today. Not Hopps today. My body is her shield, my life for hers. I never take my eyes off her, as the bullets rip into my skin.
 Oya
They say, âSometimes, itâs your time to die.â Well I say no, time obeys me. This is my domain, not theirs. I control my friends fate. No time to panic, to wonder what could have been done differently. I look into the eyes of a monster, and freeze him where he stands. This is my domain!
Cass
They say, âLife is cheap.â And donât understand the ramifications I do. Iâve seen all facets of life. Those struggling to survive And those who take from those who struggle. I wonât let these villains take another life. I stand strong in the face of their destruction. Show them, how I protect my family. Take this boot to the face!
 Kostchie
They say, âDo the job for the money.â And I usually do. But these people, inspire me. He took four laser bursts for her. That loyalty, is rarely seen. I was sent to save them, and I have helped. But everytime, they save me. Remind me of my humanity. I will remember their faces, remember as they rushed to save her life. I remember you Callisto6, I will come when you need me. My loyalty now, forever.
Then thereâs a moment when it all speeds up. When you realise youâre victorious, though it doesnât feel that way. Youâre super human they say Invincible against all the odds But youâre more human than super.
Lacy
They say, âBravery is overcoming fear, not the absence of it.â But I never felt brave. I felt terrified for them, so far away from the scene of danger. I flew them out of it, but it didnât feel like enough. She almost got torn apart. Never felt so terrified, weâre not invincible. I miss my family, my friends. I need to know theyâre safe. But weâre all safe, weâre all alive. And weâre all going to take a nap.
Luma
They say, âEvil abounds, when good people stand by and do nothing.â And I felt like I did nothing. I could only speak and keep them going. And it didnât feel like enough. I feel the guilt prick at me. All their bodies torn, Hopps lying there. While Iâm standing here, unscathed. Never again, well I let them rush into danger, without me. Never again will I be left behind.
Hopps
They say âYour life flashes before your eyes, before you die.â Well mine did. A lifetime of choices, of mistakes and circumstances, made up me. And as I watched it all pass, I wondered. Should I stay? I donât want to lose my father again. Should I take the final subway ride? No. I guess itâs not my time. I finally realise they care, they need me. No itâs not my time. Not this time.
And thereâs a moment, when it all equalises When you realise youâre all safe. Youâre all alive, and you were victorious And as you recover, and contemplate the future. You know, youâll never let this happen again. But for now. You are, alive.
