Feature in Ancestry Quarterly Issue 004
Thrilled to get my hands on the newest issue of Ancestry Quarterly, featuring work styled by me, and shot by Dave Herron.
Special thanks to California-bound friend and Creative Director, Ciara Petruna, for the feature and support! Frozen is a photography piece Dave and I shot earlier this year. The story is a spin-off of our Frost & Bloom series that we had previously conceptualized and shot. Frost & Bloom is a series of shots that combine the natural feminine softness of flowers with the unpredictable state of ice. Dave and I felt the contrast complimented their subtle, and unexpected pairing.
With the series Frozen, we took that same idea but took it a step further, and incorporated the human figure. The series embodies the discomforting obsession with beauty, and the trying act of freezing that beauty in the stillness of time. Although, like ice, time will inevitably melt, and like a flower, that beauty will inevitably wilt. Order your copy online at this LINK Kindest, VM
