Otherworldly Cuisine: pages 1-9
I've been in a state of existential anxiety for over a year now, so I decided to draw an issekai for therapeutic reasons. It's not for any monetary or artistic advancements; just something fun for me to escape to and work on when I feel like it.
Hope people like it, but if they don't, that's fine too lol.
Time to make a few more recommendations in the issekai Genre.
The Antagonist's Pet
This follows Sasha Tartt who had opted to be a pet to the nobility for them to release their pent up emotions which not only leads her to better positions in society but also keeps her alive. She meets the villainess who dies in the end of the original story and when at first she had decided to keep her distance she quickly decides to save the villainess Rebecca from her original fate.
It's very well written and I love the relationships of the characters, the romance is slow building but believable. I really like the 3 leads and hope for their happiness. Definitely check it out if you like emotionally mature leads.
It's a pay to read one but worth it in my opinion.
Beware the Villainess!
This one follows a girl reincarnated into the body of the villainess, however all of the male love interests are so terrible she aims to avoid them and break off her engagement to the original male lead. Along the way plans get muddle and she decides to defend the female lead from the terrible men.
I really enjoy this one for the friendship of the female leads and how uncompromising the Melissa is. The author also doesnt attempt to get us to empathize with or forgive the male love interests which is a great plus. Eager to see how this story plays out.
It's another pay to read one.
Name: Konosuba
⭐Rating: 10/10⭐
Genre: Comedy, action
Rated: Solid TV-14
I wanted to start off with an anime that is absolutely God-Tier to me. Konosuba is an isseki anime where Kazuma Sato, a young shut-in neet, dies and is offered to be reincarnated into a new fantasy world with one goal in mind; defeat the Demon Lord. This is one of the very few animes that I do not mind watching in dub, something that is exceedingly rare to me. They do such an amazing job on not taking themselves seriously and focusing on the most important and interesting parts of fantasy/RPG sort of worlds. The background music, not even including all openings they have released, have been so beautiful. The music can go from a soft, light-hearted melody where Kazuma thinks "Maybe this world isn't so bad" to a exciting, action tempo where he's straight up "Screw this world! It can burn for all I care!" Another solid aspect is, even for a fantasy isseki anime, they have a certain real aspect. They show what it's like to suddenly be dropped in with no skills, no money, and no connections. They take a cast of basically useless characters and spin it in a way where their abilities, or lack thereof, doesn't even matter. They turn this into a strength of the show by making so much fun of it. I truly cannot think of a single episode where I have not laughed. With two seasons and a movie under their belt, they are still fresh, funny, and truly charming in some moments. Whenever you're just trying to find something relaxing, and to end up loving at the same time, Konosuba would be the first anime I recommend.
So I have a dumb idea...

Idea for an issekai story : a young person who is very talented in music and has a wonderful voice can't manage to get the recognition they deserve because they lack the network, the connexion
They get into an accident and get thrown into a World where like opera and maybe jazz or like waltz are known but no other type of music and they decide that this their Time to shine
The irony of course is that by the end of the story they became thé connexion people need to succeed in this New music industry.
A character saying “me, I’m just happy to be here”
issekai, conceptually, is such a cop-out of a genre. enough of this "random deadbeat Protagonist™ is whisked away into an alternate reality which is conveniently catered to their exact set of skills and/or happens to represent the exact change they needed to make at that moment in their lives". just commit and create a regular old fantasy realm with established rules and proper worldbuilding, you lazy assholes.
