Is the Island Housing Market in calm waters?
The question is an interesting one and certainly one that is still being pondered by many of potential sellers as the Island struggles with barely half of its normal stock level. The last time we saw a significant drop in the amount of houses for sale was in 2008, no surprise there, but when buyer confidence started to recover we saw prices rising at a fair few percent. We are certainly past the troubled times of 2008 when you look at the lending market but are we safe from the greater economy? My opinion on this is that we make our own destiny in terms of economic growth and the housing market is at the forefront of it all. So we have to keep pushing the market on, to encourage the new growth that we all so desperately need. There is no shortage of buyers out there and homes are selling well when they are priced correctly, so if you are thinking of moving, get your home listed and start the positive ripple effect today.
