This conversation is ofc my favorite with Isidro; his response is to just smile beautifully and laugh a little, definitely teasing. I think Halsin might actually blush uwu :3. Isidro is absolutely in love with Halsin already and aware of the pull between them. At the same time he has not thought to act on it bc he thinks he doesn't deserve Halsin, but also secretly a little bit bc he wants Halsin to make the first move :3

This absolutely triggers a scary oathbreaker moment for Isidro lmao. He's totally in love with Halsin at this point, respects him so much, is so worried about how much pain this shadow curse has and is causing him...so yeah, keeping his wrath in check is not possible 💀 Not the first time Shads has made him snap like that (she says something nasty to him in act 1 about Helm/his family). He does feel ashamed and apologizes, and she apologizes too, and they really repair their relationship after she frees Nightsong.

Arasene too would be sooooooooooo fucking mad at Shads for taunting Halsin. But you know, she's not explosive like Isidro, her thing is "You keep poking the bear and he mauls you, don't expect me to help. If you said some shit like that to me you'd be on the ground with a broken jaw right now, so I'll help him, if anything"

Bc first of all, she's not coddling anyone in her company. You start shit with someone else, be prepared to face the consequences of getting hit.

Second of all, she is VERY worried about Halsin in act 2. Arasene knows what it's like to come back to the site of a traumatizing battle that was a major defeat, and where you lost a lot of people. But no loss has ever been as deep for her as this defeat was for Halsin, she's never lost people who meant to her what thaniel and Halsin's friends did (thinking of his "the grove became my family" line). She knows what it does simply coming back and seeing the land all fucked up from war, but seeing it all fucked up from the shadow curse? Your friends killed and turned into shadow monsters, deprived of their rest, turned against you?

The psychological horror of this place is disturbing to begin with, but it really fucks with her warrior's mind and her secret elfy love of nature. This is, without a doubt, the worst place she has ever been, and she's been everywhere on Toril. It's constantly on her mind that Halsin is Going Through It and she's watching him closely to determine what help he needs and when.

So for Shads to JUST SAY THIS LOL girl she's SO lucky Arasene feels responsible for everyone's safety - albeit sometimes VERY grudgingly - and that she never ejected her from the company. Even tho she kinda wanted to several times lol. They become very close after Shads frees Nightsong :3. They have a lot in common actually, two tough bitches who LOVE animals and nature, and who are/were very secretive about that love.
