The past 2 days I have seen a lot of confusion over Larvikite and if it is Black Moonstone. The answer is NO! Also, Larvikite is not Black Labradorite, even though it has the schiller (flashes) similar to Labradorite. I personally find it easier to see stones side by side to see the difference. Here is the confusion, Hypersthene is sometimes called Velvet Labradorite due to its color. It is not a Labradorite. Larvikite is sometimes called Black Labradorite or Black Moonstone. Again, it is neither of these. Here they all are side by side with Black Moonstone and Labradorite. They are all amazing stones!
