A Time Lord is Never Late

With a wheeze and a whine, the TARDIS materialized on the side of the road, blue and bold and right where anyone could see her. And yet, anyone looking her way might think she’d been there the whole time, for years even. They’d look past the strange phone box, think nothing of it, at first. At least she was good at redirecting people’s attention, despite not being able to change her appearance.
A few minutes of silence passed and the Doctor finally stepped out, adjusting his blue suit jacket and tugging a long tan overcoat on as well. He gazed about, humming to himself, and shut the doors of the TARDIS with care and love, patting her wooden frame before venturing further out into the world.
He was sick, unfortunately. It wasn’t obvious, to the untrained eye, but he had something akin to a human cold. It ran him hot and cold at varying degrees and knocked his senses for a loop, the worst of it being his time sense. He hadn’t the faintest idea where he was, and worse... when.
So, in true lunatic fashion, he stopped the first person he passed, a young woman, and asked the simplest of questions. “Excuse me, what day is it? And year?”
