So I’m rather sad/pissed off to announce that I have a kidney infection. I woke up feeling quite unwell, so I went to the GP, and they’ve confirmed I’ve got borderline renal sepsis... oh, and that dead toenail that was killed by hypoxia, the one I’m desperately waiting to have removed? Yeah, that’s also infected. So I’m on a massive dose of antibiotics three times a day for a week, and anti fungal tablets. I’m a bit gutted because just last week I was boasting about the miracle of the new drug I’m on for my kidney function, Hiprex... my mum actually told me that “you look well for the first time in a long time... I don’t know what it is... your skin, your colour is better, I think.”! But my GP and nurses have made it very clear that it takes 6-12 weeks for the Hiprex to fully enter your system, and I’ve only been on it for 4, so I shouldn’t stress that it’s not going to work... it’s just getting started! This infection is my kidneys throwing one last strop 😂 after this, they’re going straight!
