Hiii! I love your OCs so much (especially the sharkboys) <3 I have a few questions, if you don't mind. When Chase and Hunter make sandwich with their prey between them, does they make sure their victim doesn't die too soon, so fun can last longer, or do they let her/him/they drown? Do they always kill their prey, after they finish with them, or do they let them live? Also, are they brothers/cousins, or are completly not related to each other? Do they have any families? Are they prefer warm or cold waters? Also, are all merfolk are similar to Hunter and Chase, when it comes to appearence, behavior and diet? Sorry, if that's too much questions, I'm just so excited! I'll DEFINITLT will buy that lovely art of them from your Inprint shop someday <3 Have and amazing day!
Thank you!! I'm glad to hear :D Feel free to ask as much as you want!
Hunt and Chase enjoy playing with their food before eating it, indeed! Much like an orca will kick a seal around, they will too. Unless the prey is able to escape, it always ends up dead. No exceptions. I've had some people who want my sharks to meet their ocs, and I will iterate. They are not friendly, they cannot be anyone's friend or bro, and they will try to kill them. They pretend they are friendly/flirty, to simply lure a prey into the water to bang and kill. They might let you go if they get bored, or figured out they just weren't that hungry. They are very playful.
Hunt and Chase are a bonded pair, not related by blood! Something closer to two homoerotic frat boys. They met, bonded at an early age and stayed together ever since. The males of the species tend to pair up, while the female prefer to live alone and/or in larger family/friend groups. Unbothered, moisturized and happy. They lay eggs and the shark pup will stay with the females for a short while before they venture off into the world on their own. There is very little parental care.
The male pairs will beef with other males for territory or fun. They might gather for a feeding frenzy if they smell enough blood in the water from a large prey. The shark folk prefer darker murky water, but have been known to travel to warmer places for summer vacation when people are gathering at the beach, alcohol is running rampant and careless people go for swims. They do not stay in one place for long and will not have "home" the same way the merfolk do. They can swim in both salt and fresh water, but prefer salt. Hunt and Chase look like typical sharkbois, and behave in a typical manner. Except they are more of a menace than most. They are larger and stronger than a merman. Mermen are prettier and more androgynous.
You could say the shark folk are cousin species of the merfolk. While the merfolk might be a bit more human in their ways, the shark folk are shark first. The merfolk fear them and try to stay far away.
