Still I'd love to talk a little about their original purpose. (Beware a small spoiler for SotO, in the Text about Isaam)

Gluskin Seelentod (Souldeath)

Nekromancer and Member of the Durmand Priory.

He was a former Friend of Deus and originally he and Deus where meant to be a couple. Now I pushed Deus to Vale, to become Vale's Husband and Father of Fuma and Orez. Maybe he still exist as a long forgotten Childhood Friend,... roaming around Orr and studying the influence of Zhaitan there. Or maybe he is just stays an old Char(r) I refuse to delete, because he has two important crafting professions on max level and he is... 9? years old.

Isaam Sonnengold (Sungold)

This one is a little more interesting, because I might reuse him.

At the very beginning he was just a charrified Version of an old OCs of mine. Later he got revamped into Vale's father, who roamed around the mists - without any memory of his former life. He was known as a wandering story teller.

And maybe he will stay this way. But the reason why he lost his memory is because he ascended and became a Wizard. He will also be the one meeting Orez in the Mists, long before the Events of SotO.

I'm not sure yet, but at the same time I somehow like this idea. Especially with Vale meeting her Father in SotO, without knowing it! HMMM.

It's like a switch was had been thrown in him.

The moment he'd seen the glare of light reflected off the drawn dagger and it's target, he'd jumped to action.

It'd been so easy to slip into his training, like he'd never stopped being Qunari. So easy to slip into that lethal and dangerous mindset, sneaking up behind Kaaras' would be assailant. He doesn't hesitate to grab the assassin and drag them backwards from the target, using his strength to keep them still and a hand to keep them quiet. He draws his own blade, tightening his grip on the struggling person before sinking his blade in to their back.

The qunari waits for a bit, expression cool while the person in his arm slows in their struggle before stopping altogether, letting the body drop before focusing on the Inquisitor.

His features softened after a moment of regarding the other qunari, the hard edge of of the ex-Ben-Hassrath melting back into the more familiar Field Leader Katari.

"You alright?"

If it hadn’t been for the scuffle behind him, Kaaras wouldn’t have even known there was an assassins behind him. He had particularly good hearing considering he was a qunari, but also because of his overly sensitive (and large) ears, but the light footwork of a well trained assassin was still beyond him, especially when he’d been talking to someone else in the evening darkness, lanterns overhead in the small town. 

When he heard the noise of Isaam and his would-be-killer, he spun around, watching as Isaam took them out. A sense of shock went through his whole body, and he wanted to step in, but even if he wanted to, Isaam was so damn quick about it all that it was over before he could even intervene.

“Maker’s breath,” he spoke, a puff of frost exiting his lips in the cool night air. His ears flicked back, eyes looking around as if there may be more of them around. Who had sent an assassin after him? And why? Could there be more? He suddenly felt very unsafe out here in the open.

“I’m--I’m fine no thanks to your quick response, but...” The person he’d been speaking with was in far worse condition than he was, and he quickly told them to go inside.

One of Kaaras’ guards put a hand to him, stepping around as a shield. “Inquisitor, you should go inside, let us sweep the area.”

She did not trust the qunari man. After what had happened in Kirkwall, it was hard to trust any qunari, even those who said they were not under the Qun any longer. But the Inquisitor (and Leliana) had welcomed him, and thus she had no say in the matter.

Kaaras had been in the middle of shaving when Isaam had entered. Because of his concentration, he’d never even heard the larger man come into his room, despite feeling the air shift. Being shirtless meant it was a little cooler in the castle, although Skyhold always felt a pleasant temperature. 

Thankfully, he’d lowered the razor before he saw Isaam in the mirror, and then the large arms were wrapped around his midsection, causing him to only flinch lightly.

The Inquisitor laughed, half of his face still covered in shaving cream. He kept his stubble neat and tidy, and it was difficult to trim without cutting it clean off, but with work, he’d been a few days behind to a point where it felt like it was getting out of control. That and... Kaaras’ hair grew way too quickly.

Somewhere, in the back of his mind, Elerosse knew the call for dinner had gone out, as it did every evening once the Inquisition encampment became settled in the hills above Redcliffe Village. He knew he should have gotten up, taken a break, gotten a little bit of food in him. Maybe then the map spread before him might have started to make a bit more sense with the missives on troop movement he was trying to work from.

The flickering lamplight probably wasn’t helping much either, and when a large shadow moved through the Inquisitor’s light, the poor elf startled. Flinching back, his hands already reached for his staff, wild eyes darted to find the source of the shadow, only to land on... a Qunari? Yes, right. He’d seem this man around camp. Couldn’t come up with his name, but it was hard to forget such a distinctive silhouette, and he seemed to be offering... food?

The commander forgot that she knew very little about being a leader, that if they wanted her to be a good one she had to do so on her terms, and learn as much as she could. She would not learn anything about being Inquisitor sitting on a throne and letting everyone else do the traveling and fighting. “I want to meet them, and I want to know why they’re all here. Won’t it do me well to know the motives of the members of the Inquisition?” She raised her eyebrows at the man, but waited for no response as she moved across the large encampment. “What better place to learn than the field?”

She looked about, curious eyes taking in her surroundings. She had only recently been appointed Inquisitor, so she didn’t know a lot of people under her command... Which was such a strange thing to think. She was their leader, yet she didn’t know them or how to lead them.

But she wanted to learn and do her best. She had to.
