She was SO intense as a kid/teenager, like she took everything she did soooo serious, sports, school, hobbies, everything mattered so much all the time. She also took her teenage rebellion phase incredibly serious and got really upset when her parents encouraged her to keep doing more stuff because they wanted her to put herself out there more socially.

I think she was honestly a really withdrawn person when she was younger. She had a few close friends growing up but mostly kept to herself. A lot of her peers probably annoyed her because they didn’t really care for her overachiever-ness

Chris was one of her first Adult Friends, they got really close because he practically DRAGGED her out of her comfort zone and decided they were besties.

Jill knows how good she is, she’s incredibly confident in her skills, and she doesn’t let anyone diminish her work, ever. Her confidence in her work doesn’t always extend to a social confidence, especially if we’re talking about pre and during STARS.

She definitely had a phase where she was insanely nervous to talk to women, before her shameless flirt era. 21yo Jill stumbling over her words because a pretty girl complimented her in passing ohhhh I’m on the ground.

Her and Chris bicker constantly, like brother and sister. Before Jill met Claire he’d joke about how alike they were, and he was proven right when they Did meet because they got along like a house on fire.

I envision platonic Valenfield’s dynamic like Steve and Robin from Stranger Things, they bicker all the time but they’re attached at the hip, everyone assumes they’re dating bc heteronormativity, and they’re both equally bad at dating.

I think she’s definitely an only child. She grew up mostly around adults which shaped her very serious views on life really early. It wasn’t until she was those adults’ age that she realized none of them actually had it all together and that she could let loose about things some more.

I think she was really into sci-fi novels as a kid, she had shelves and shelves of them in her bedroom. I can also see her being into video games and having an Atari. Lowkey kind of a nerd.

She taught herself how to pick basic locks in middle school in order to impress a girl she liked…Then realized she was actually really fucking good at it and developed a fixation on learning how to pick different types of locks

Figured out she was gay like…super early in life. She had one boyfriend in middle school, hated it, and concluded she didn’t like boys. (Then she kissed a girl during spin the bottle and had a crisis for a few days)

Her parents are very supportive and are so insanely proud of her. They never stopped bragging about her accomplishments to their friends.

Jill was always a mama’s girl. She loves her dad of course, but her mom was always it for her.

She always viewed working as a cop as a means to the end of helping people. I honestly think she would ideologically oppose a lot of what cops stand for in our reality. Like Leon, I think her feelings about her job are rooted in wanting to actually serve and protect. She’s a lot more idealistic internally than she lets slip.

Her prickly exterior is really bad at concealing how genuine and kind she actually is. Jill is brimming with empathy to the point where it slows her down when she’s trying to survive. Her instinct is to protect and save anyone she can.

She thinks of Rebecca like a little sister and was super protective of her when they were younger, especially after the Spencer Mansion. Sometimes Jill has to be reminded that Rebecca is grown and doesn’t need to be looked after because she worries over her the same way Chris does over Claire. Someone stood Rebecca up on a date during the STARS era and Jill had to be talked down from going to the guy’s house to chew him out.

Definitely had a ratty old stuffed animal from when she was a baby in her apartment during STARS era, she didn’t always sleep with it but it hung out on her nightstand until the insomnia started.

It took a long time for her to trust a therapist enough to open up. She compartmentalized a lot of her trauma and thought she could just power through until it eventually faded into the background but Chris was the one to sit her down and convince her to try talking to someone.

Unironically likes Eminem, I have nothing else to say on this.

Probably has always been a picky eater, but not in the “only likes chicken tenders” kind of way. She’s really particular about certain textures and flavors.

Branching off the last point I think she is probably neurodivergent and never got diagnosed as a kid because she was a socially awkward young girl in the 80s. She just got dismissed as being a little ‘odd’ and overly intense.

She’s the worst at sitting still unless something is physically holding her down, and even then she WILL find a way to wiggle around a bit. Restlessness is built into her after so many years in combat, getting her to stop moving is like trying to herd cats.

Her career choices were a result of most corporate jobs not being tolerant of her very blunt and straightforward nature. She didn’t want to compromise her personality to pander to a job she didn’t even really like, and she ended up excelling because of that.

She really likes slasher movies, almost to a point where one might find it worrisome. Her favorite is still the original Scream (1996), but Halloween is up there for her as well. (Does in fact purposefully pick scary movies to watch for dates so she can soothe you when you get scared, shes cringe)

Chris once tried to teach her how to flirt, it went about as well as you’d expect
