“Alan!” His eyes light up the moment he sees her, and while… yes, he’s still pretty obviously on a good dose of medication, he seems (relatively, all things considered) coherent and nigh-blissful. This may be due in part to the half-assembled miniature Ultima he’s visibly been working on, parts strewn all over the bed around him. “You’re here, great, now I can thank you - you know, this is a decently-faithful representation, if sorely lacking in any ability to emulate its combat capabilities.” Is he rambling? He’s probably rambling, but who cares, look at this tiny Ultima.
“I’ll have to make some modifications to Tiny-tima here once I’m allowed out of bed,” he says conversationally, “She’ll be more impressive with a few lights and sound effects, don’t you think? And I’ll get you a gift in return, of course… the only reason I haven’t is that I doubt you want any of the things I could gather up around here…”
She does brighten considerably when she sees that he’s working on her gift, and approaches to pull a chair over and sit beside him. She’d sit on the bed, but he’s so busy, she doesn’t want to disturb anything. “Is it really?” She asks. “I didn’t know. I’m glad it is, though,” she adds with a smile. “I thought you would like it. There are a bunch of miniature magitek models on the market, but I had a feeling that you would appreciate this one best.” Regardless of what it had caused and all that, she had always been incredibly impressed by his work on the weapon.
She hesitantly reaches out to pick up a piece that doesn’t look immediately necessary -- a wing, she thinks -- to play with it gently as a means of distraction. “That would be very impressive,” she adds. “Making it make those roaring noises...oh!” She has an idea, and she wonders... “I wonder what would happen if you put a mammet core in it,” she suggests, a little bit mischievously. She pauses, though, and goes very pink at his next comment. “---oh,” she manages after a second. “I-- oh. Okay.” She’d never really-- a gift for her? Oh.
