#onlyinmalmö can a musical group like Tarab Band come into existence. OMG HRG this is the most original sound I've heard in a long time. #Tarabband is a female led Arabic band from Sweden that mixes Latin, Nordic folk and tradition, Jazz, Persian, and Middle Eastern music. The leader, Nadin Al khalidi, is from Egypt and Baghdad and now lives in Malmö! I could feel her lyrics even though I couldn't understand them. On the band's site, she says, “I often think of life, people I’ve met, wars I’ve survived and different circumstances with a great deal of irony. They all inspire me and i can’t help hearing a sound track in my head for each one of them.” Nadin also teaches Swedish to asylum seekers and immigrants at #Folkuniversitetet . I was ask Nadin to be my next Svenska lärare! I'm so sad that they don't have any shows in Malmö until October.
