i need to get his off my brain because it's been bothering me for five-ever.
so, people who are genuinely like, "oh, you like the gay hockey show, here's a gay hockey comic you could enjoy next" are so... mean? i don't know if it's the right word, but that's what my brain is telling me right now.
because, like, you're advertising a comic that is not even in the same realm as the tv show. the main character in the comic isn't even a hockey player i'm right, fight me on this. there are no actual stakes in the comic because it's all in the main's imagination. the only remotely similar thing shows up in the middle of the second season and it doesn't even happen to the main character and the author hates him. like i said in another post, if the comic wanted even a chance to be put on TV, the main character's love interest needed to be main and then the show needed to start back in juniors.
so, like, the only things people clamoring for newbies to read the comic will cause them to either 1) hate the comic because seriously, barely any similarities or 2) send them down the pimms rabbithole.
so, please be real fucking honest with people when you're trying to advertise the comic to people who enjoy the show. because it seriously sounds like, "hey, you like the gay hockey tv show, here's a hockey comic takes everything you loved about it and doesn't include it." there's a reason jacob tierney started with heated rivalry and not game changer.
So, a new irritation just dropped about the comic. XD
I found myself getting irritated that the Aces colors are Black, White, and Red. And I totally get it because the colors are kind of limited because of playing cards and whatever. But like, the Kings are technically in the same division and their colors are Black, White, and Silver (RIP Purple & Gold jerseys). Their matchup must be the most boring in terms of color scheme ever.
that moment when you finally figure it* out
*that dumb thing that's been in the way of you finally finishing that chapter you've been avoiding for months and now writing is fun again and you feel like you everything is gonna be okay even if just for a moment
okay, but why did she draw him like that???

Writing with AI is ruining fic for me in a way that like, now, I don't want to read fics from authors I don't know because I don't want to get through a fic from a new author and learn at the end that it was written with AI because people don't tag it, but they try to sneak it into the end note. This happened to me and I ended up mad for like two days. Like, straight up, I was fucking seething when the "author" said the fic was written with AI in the end note. And I don't want to get mad reading a fic when it isn't about something that happened in the fic itself.
So now, I don't want to branch out and read other authors besides my usuals which sucks because there is always new authors coming into fandoms. But now I'm scared and frustrated and I don't want to feel like I'm wasting my time when I accidentally read something that someone didn't even write. I guess I'm trying to be like, whatever, write fic with AI if you want, but tag that shit accordingly because that way I can avoid your shit like the plague and not have to close ranks in terms of the authors I read.
And no, I won't get over it. You can post your AI fic, but you don't get the privilege of a dopamine hit from a kudos or a comment from me if you don't put in the effort to actually write it.
