A loud congratulatory alarm sounds, and Jason is quick to yank the Robin dressed duck off the shelf and hand it to you. You bid farewell to the vendor and continue the original path to the Ferris wheel.
“Could you have at least acted a little bad at the game?” You cheekily ask.
“And risk not getting you this thing?” He holds the duck up. “Absolutely not.”
You’re jolted awake by your alarm, and a groan escapes you as the bolded 2:30 AM glares back brightly. You push yourself through the motions of getting ready for patrol, your mind still stuck on the dream. Almost every night, your dreams have been memories of Jason. It makes it that much harder for you not to think about him. It’s been a few weeks since he let himself into your apartment, and you haven’t seen him since. You double-check that you have everything before you leave for the night. Once you’re certain you have everything, you shake your head to push Jason from your mind and begin your night.
