Sand The epoxy for Ioxi.
Then spray them down with some MSC, get our your favorite paints, and try to color match something close to the doll.
Wear gloves going forward to avoid getting the oils from your skin on the doll between layers of MSC.
I found this amazing kinky natural doll hair from TheDollPlanetHair on Etsy and got a shien of it for Ioxi's re-root. I've never worked with natural doll hair before and it took me a but to figure out the best way to thread it onto the reroot needle. But once I got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing.
And you really cannot argue with the results, I'm Obsessed with the look and feel of the reroot, it came out so good! Took about two and half hours to do.
Decide where the horns should go and mark it. Then hit the doll with a thin coat of MSC so you can paint the headcap the same color as the reroot. You don't actually have to do this part, but I think it leaves the doll with a more finished look at the end if you do.
It doesn't have to be an amazing paint job or anything.
Once that's dry, glue on the horns. I used E6000 - you want something that will create a secure bond but you do you need it to stay flexible. Doll heads are vinyl and they'll squish around and dent in as you reroot and work on them, so if the glue dries hard, it'll just break off instead of moving with the vinyl.
I took some air-dry epoxy for plastic and added it to the Cave Club doll's body. Ioxi is NB and suppose to be androgynous, so I wanted to remove that very Hourglass figure the doll had. Also they're a halfling, so adding a little bit of thickness to their waist and tummy seemed appropriate. I'll have sand it and paint it when it's done curing.
I might add another layer when this one dries, too. I haven't quite decided yet. Depends on how happy I am with the first pass. 🫣

Use clay to make little horns for your party's dragon halfling. You can use p much any kind you want. I used sculptey because I already had some on hand which you just bake to harden. 🤷🏼♀️
I used a little tool to add ridges, too, but you can't see them in this picture.
Continuing to dip the disembodied heads into the pot of boiling water (to soften the glue inside the heads and keep the vinyl soft), use needle nose pliers and tweezers to rip out all the rooted hair that's left.
Be careful, boiling water is very hot.
Doing this many dolls took me about 7 hours. It's very tedious. Also I have never seen a doll as over-glued as Xinglu's doll was. 🤢
You will be left with a pile of glue and hair.
Hold the dolls heads/shoulders in a pot of boiling water for 20 seconds or so. The goal is to soften the vinyl heads and plastic neck pin so you can pop off their heads. Some people prefer a hairdryer for this.
Cry because you still broke the neck pin on Draculaura so you're going to have to improvise that later. 😰
