2014年8月11日 おはようございます。 雨が止んで、たまに日が差す伊豆下田 Snapshot と記事の内容は関連を持っていません。 イオンエンジンというのを知っているだろうか? イオン作って、電気で加速させて噴射するのだそうだ。運動量保存の法則で移動するので、普通のロケットの化学反応エンジン（水素と酸素を化学反応させて燃焼する）と同じ原理なのだねぇ。衛星のエンジンで使う電気は、太陽光パネルと充電式の電池でまかなう。イオンを作るための電気と出来上がったイオンを加速させるための電気が必要になる。イオンは＋、－出来るので噴射しない方のイオンを中和する必要があって、これにも燃料を使う。イオンエンジンは、化学反応エンジンにくらべて燃費が良いのが特徴なのだそうだ。瞬間的なパワーは弱いけど、長い時間速い噴射ができて補う感じだねぇ。何年も飛行した「はやぶさ」には、66kgのキセノンが搭載されていたそうです。調子が良ければ、66Kgのガソリン（比重0.75として88リットル）だと、うちのプリウスなら1800Kmぐらいは走れるかも＾＾（ちなみにプリウスのエンジンは、熱エネルギーを運動エネルギーに変換する熱エンジン）
