Brussels: Do you use many different languages in a same sentence?

Yep! I use Spanglish when I don’t know all the words in Spanish that I’m trying to use, or when I forget a word in either language. I’ll also occasionally slip in Hebrew or Yiddish. Here’s a funny story of something that happened on Thursday with English and Spanish:

I was hanging out in my room with my friends and boyfriend and I forgot the word “bedroom” in both languages and I was stuttering (which I hate doing when I’m nervous, literally only my boyfriend is patient and understanding when I stutter), and I finally just said in frustration, “La palabra es como…. Eso como una casa dentro de una casa, pero… pero… Agh what’s the word…Pero es tuyo!”

 Then I realized only my gal friend knew enough Spanish (she completed Spanish 1-4, my boyfriend and guy friend had to go back to ab initio because of difficulty) and she had no idea what I was going for so I said in English to him, “Please help me… What’s the word for a house inside of a house that’s yours….” And he just looked at me for a solid minute before bursting out laughing and saying, “Bedroom? Did you mean bedroom, baby?” And I was so flustered, but he just hugged me, called me cute, and assured me it was okay. 

I love that boy so much, he puts up with my craziness and chaos in both languages even though he barely understands one of them.

Reykjavik: If you had to choose a country in the World to live forever and ever, which one it would be?

In terms of my comfort level and love of cultures, Spain or Argentina. In terms of just overall quality of living experience, Norway. It’s ranked really high in equality, living quality, and a lot of other things like health and education.

🌍  If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?

Probably Spain or another Spanish-speaking country! Iceland is top-rated for actual living quality, though.

🎨 - What colors do you like your notes to be?

Most definitely cool colors!! I love greens, blues, and purples so much. The only warm color I really like (my favorite color) is red!
