Aladdin had always found the night soothing. Whether it was storming or clear, or the eve of some terrible event, he couldn’t shake the feeling of peace the evening hours brought. Even with such peace, there were some that smelled of turmoil; of sleepless nights, much like the one he was having tonight. Too many dreams - or perhaps they were memories - to rest properly, leaving bags under his eyes and a need to clear his head.
He’d grown accustom to the city, really, or at least enough to know that he would be able to find his apartment if he were to take a stroll. So with his mindset, he went to do that. Only, he hadn’t expected company. Certainly not one that would intrigue him as much as this boy did. His words were confusing at first, leaving the magi to ponder silently. Was he distant? With the dreams flooding his brain’s attention, it could very well seem like he was completely lost in thought. But this wasn’t something that could be followed. Alma Torran was gone, and all Aladdin had were the few memories he’d been gifted in order to remember his ruined home.
Out of habit though, he tries to forget about it for the sake of conversation. No need to worry anyone with his own problems. Still, his smile falters momentarily before softening.
“I’m...I’m afraid that’s not possible,” Following a mind that has wandered off to a lost world, his lost home, would never be able to be done. “It’s in a place very far away, and somewhere I can’t follow right now, but I can certainly try!”
“And you? I can see you’re trying to follow yours as well. Can I ask where it’s taking you?”
