Conquering headstand is always a big milestone for any yogi. I always tell my students that the tough part of this pose is getting into it, not "being" in it, because you have to use your abs to lift your legs up. Therefore, an amazing core exercise, as well as great headstand prep, is to lower and lift your legs from the initial ball shape to hip height with either bent or straight legs. Doing this will strengthen your entire torso and help you learn to stabilize within the shape while your legs are in motion, making headstand a cinch.
